Would you upload your PhD thesis to researchgate/academia etc., if you were also trying to publish from your thesis in journals? Does it 'dilute' or distract from the journal articles?

If you have to choose so what you would be of the following:
Abstract
Introduction
Methods
Results
Discussion
Conclusion
I think I would be the discussion.

@PhDfriendSana @AcademicChatter The final copy, or ongoing drafts? If the former, usually. But sometimes seemingly for the first time.
I've known of some who skim through candidates' drafts while in meetings, writing hasty notes. Others can take months to respond. As ever, there are good & bad supervisors.
#FridayFun game!
If you were a superhero named “Captain Ordinary”, what would your superpower be?
Mine would be being able to write really boring texts, texts far more boring than any normal human can tolerate, and not get bored myself😋🤣

@DJGould94@PhDVoice@AcademicChatter Caring about your topic and not trying to turn it into their topic.
That, and not disappearing for months at a time to further their career, without discussing and arranging cover.
@mcem_kat I don't think I fully understood my project until the last 6 months. Upon which, I realised that I had actually understood it all along, just not been fully able to explain it to myself or others.
@vllmbr @PhDVoice Endnote is clunky as all heck, but once you've got the hang of it, it does the job.
None of them are tools that I would class as 'favourite'. But as long as you input citations properly in the first place, they can save a huge amount of really boring time.
@hapyresearchers@PhDVoice@AcademicChatter @PhDfriendSana @OpenAcademics@PhDForum I think all of my cohort just used PhD Candidate.
I wouldn't use student or scholar. The former because, after confirmation, it seems inaccurate (and only encourages paternalistic treatment from some schools) and scholar feels antiquated. Researcher? Sure, why not.
@OpenAcademics A journal I submitted a previous article to had split reviews. The reviewer that rejected was clearly from the wrong discipline. If I submit a new article to the journal, is it appropriate suggest to the editors the disciplinary 'context', or…? #AcademicChatter
@thoughtsofaphd@AcademicChatter I come from industry (a term I never used until I became an academic) & it has the usual mixture of helpful & less so. But when unhelpfulness occurs in academia, it feels uniquely bitter. Maybe it's all that rejection on the way up & struggle for grants? Many are lovely of course
@EmilyMThomson@AcademicChatter@PhdWomenScot I wish someone had told me to try and embrace and have confidence in my expertise earlier than I did. Obviously, to be aware of hubris, but also to realise that I was an expert in my topic before I realised that I was. Good luck with it and enjoy it.
Is there a list anywhere of journals that are no longer actively being published? A few times in recent years I've submitted to & emailed journals that appear to have a functioning online submission system, but no actual humans behind the scenes. #AcademicTwitter@AcademicChatter
