As a creator, I used to think like this, but I’ve long met enough readers, of my work and others, to know the majority of people save, reread, print, use and dissect every panel of their favorite series, and will stop at this to appreciate.
Keep those people in mind.

@amen_handle mulan was among men and being shown to struggle w/both feminine and masculine expectations. when naoto stops acting as a boy, we see her schoolmates thinking she's so hot and cool and her SL doesn't actually deal with EXPERIENCES of misogyny and how those would've changed her
