Surely a good leisure centre should be totally embedded within their community?
They would be perfectly placed to disseminate key information to key groups...
And, having established relationships with those who may need extra support, they could offer welfare calls and referrals to other services...
If leisure centres were like this, they wouldn't now be fighting for survival. Losing them just wouldn't be an option.
