@NewsBFM That is the most ignorant thing I’ve heard. MACC derives it’s powers from Parlimen. Without the necessary Laws, the MACC can’t even open an investigation!
@LeftBrexit@FullFact@Ommasalma Yes. It would have been much harder for anyone misquote him if he said ‘As an analogy’. I find it even more unbelievable that he didn’t know how this would be picked up by the media given the phrasing & choice of words
@ahmadmaslan@NajibRazak Also his position with Maybank was known at the start of the trial but was not challenged. I find it unbelievable that he only knows the alleged extent of Nazlan’s involvement before the final appeal. Sounds like somebody wanted to engineer a ‘miscarriage of Justice’. 🙄
@sundersays But Sunak was a chancellor during unprecedented times. Would a white chancellor splurging on furlough and then was revealed to have a white non-don wife experience the same trajectory in popularity? I would say the swings would have been less wild
@AzalinaOthmanS@bersihofficial@thomasfann Surely a defendant does not have an automatic right to an extension by changing their lawyers. It should be up to the court to decide. If the evidence is so damning why not say it out loud? Not just as oral evidence, publish it in the papers! Id like to know
