@RobertGonzo0921 If you take Rivian/Nationwide insurance you should be fully covered. I did replacement to my 2026 R1S recently without any issue. Get estimates at Rivian Service and contact Rivian personnel responsible for insurance coordination, not Nationwide.

@RoamingNorway I even like to use without live data. Just adjust % occasionally to match on vehicle display. I use it for remaining energy projection while Google map does routing via CarPlay.

Electric 10kWh - $4.20
Regular - $4.39
Diesel - $5.69

Here’s rationale.
Average EV efficiency 3mi/kwh -> 10kWh=30mi
Average car efficiency 30mi/gal -> 1 gal
This gave people rough idea how much to pay for 30 miles and a fair comparison.

@RivianTrackr They are great in function but bad in build quality and feel. They’re too loose, flimsy, touchy, and plasticy. Your fingers’ control is either over or under. They’re need to be solid metal feel, reassuring click with proper resistance and mean business. Learn from German here.

@RivianTrackr This is something that always puzzles me. Why when you fill gas, just tap, fill and pay what you owed without any “hold”. Is authorization not enough to use a credit card. What is so different between gas and electron? EV charging stations don’t trust clients as gas stations?

@Hilbe Even if it’s manual it should engineered to have a snuggly click so it’s secured. This flimsy construction reminds me of its halo wheels. While it’s convenient but it’s so flimsy, touchy and plasticky. It should be metal, substantial, precise with proper resistance feedback.

@brandenflasch Tesla needs to have data showing how many life time hours battery stays at high SOC (95-100) at what temperature which might settle arguments. If you have a habit to charge to 100% whenever you can every day and then hold it for 10-12 hours. It might be rough on battery.

@electricfelix It’s a societal inertia whose early sign is utility voltage change from a 19th century 120V to more modern 240V. Two prominent countries that were unable to make transition are Japan and USA. It’s very little surprise that same countries are laggards in new electrification.
