Proud Dad moment. Received a call from the VP of the Royal Alex Foundation. She wanted to call us to let us know that over $10,000 dollars has been donated in baby Eva’s memory. The funds will be used to help other families through the bereavement program. Her memory lives on.

This beautiful ribbon skirt was made by Roxanne Tootoosis of Poundmaker Cree Nation. Women wear ribbon skirts, Kinwâpêkasâkay, at round dances, ceremonies, important events such as graduations & community gatherings and, sometimes, as daily wear. #heritageMW #MuseumWeek

This beaded rifle case was made by Gladys Langkamp (Chateh, Dene Tha’ First Nation). Gladys made it for a cover action gun with no scope, such as a 30-30. Hunters use cases to carry & protect their guns. Gladys hand-stitched & beaded the entire gun case. #heritageMW #MuseumWeek

This traditional mossbag w/ cradleboard was made by Arnold Alexis, Daphne Paul Alexis, & their daughter Leah Alexis of Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation. A mossbag is a replica of the womb. It provides a safe and comforting place for a baby. #heritageMW #MuseumWeek
