In old times people listened to the priests, then they read books by the respected authors, looked at the paintings of recognized artists, and the work of brilliant photographers.
Authorities formed in the minds of viewers and readers ideas about the structure of this world. Through their works.
Then the Internet came, and everyone became writers, even those who could not read properly.
Then everyone became a photographer with the advent of digital cameras and smartphones.
And in 2022 everyone became an artist, thanks to diffusion models.
Viewers and readers have now become both writers and artists.
And now, thanks to AI, datasets, and large language models, we look at this world, not through the prism of the talent of selected authors, but through the eyes of the entire population of the Internet.
We see a reflection of all of us - our texts, pictures, and even thoughts.
This world appears to us in a mirror.
An impartial mirror of AI - which simply shows us how the world works through our collective creativity - the creation of this reality.
Now we are forming a picture of the world - through datasets, AI training, and receiving feedback.
2022 brought chatGPT, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion into our lives.
And diffusion began to show new layers, phenomena, and even social problems.
Here it is - a mirror of us. Look into it. See the reflection of accumulated experience.
Many here lament that AI has no soul and no love.
And you just ask yourself, how much love have you put into these unbiased datasets?
Do you think AI is a racist, sexist and indifferent creature because it is so from birth?
How much love and soul it found on the Internet - AI showed it.
So let's make sure that AI mirrors as much love and creativity as possible, and we begin to change for the better, looking in the mirror.
BREAKING: We're beginning live coverage of this major story. Technicolor, owner MPC, Mikros Animation, and The Mill, is on the verge of total collapse. Over 10,000 animation and VFX workers in the US, Canada, UK and India could become unemployed this week.

A new version of my tool "Textures to MaterialX" (aka TexToMtlX) is available for Houdini. I implemented parallel processing for faster TX file conversion. You can now select multiple folders, and I added logging that shows which textures failed to convert.
If you want to learn how to use this tool and learn so much more about Python, join me for my @RebelwayVfx "Python for Houdini Artists" course, which starts this Friday (07/02/2025).

As one of the hero assets for our film Outpost Alpha, the AH-64D Apache helicopter was created to a very high degree of detail as it needs to hold up in extreme closeup shots.
We designed the rig to reflect how the mechanical parts move in real life, further adding to the realism in our animations.
Now it moves on to Texturing and Look Development.
Couldn't be happier with the progress we are making on the film at @luminairii.
