Caden Larson, a SPELLER, using his powerful voice through facilitated communication. This unique community will and MUST be heard! @SpellersFilm@CHDTVLive@ChildrensHD
The IACC is in session — tune in Live: https://t.co/cAyqx9Fxc0
@InteligntHodler @AlexBerenson Thats because its a motor planning issue, has zero to do with intelligence. His intelligence was always in there the motor ability to express it took workZ And I do not touch him he points on his own.
Great Interview With Sylvia Fogel
“My focus as both a parent and a clinician is primarily on whether research has translated into meaningful improvements in day-to-day functioning, or into prevention or medical treatments,”
The first meeting of the newly appointed IACC, originally scheduled for March 19, has been postponed. Some members of the autism community have expressed concern. Please know that we are actively working to reschedule the meeting and will share the new date as soon as possible.
I recognize the urgency of the issues facing the autism community, and I understand this delay may feel discouraging.
IACC members will come to the meeting with a strong sense of purpose and determination. Together we bring clinical expertise, research experience, advocacy perspectives, and lived experience, and we are committed to carrying out the statutory responsibilities entrusted to the committee by Congress through the Autism CARES Act.
We look forward to beginning this work together and advancing the priorities that matter most to the autism community.
Please feel free to share this post so others in the autism community are aware. Further information will be shared through official HHS channels as it becomes available.
“In 2021, a review of 12 studies found that listening to Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos in D major (K.448) reduced abnormal brain activity linked to seizures in 84% of people with epilepsy”
I read a ton of science and never heard if this specific seizure reduction!
Did you know there’s a sound the brain responds to more positively than almost anything else?
This timeless practice carries remarkable benefits for the mind.
And once you start listening consistently, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without the calm and clarity it brings 👇
Grateful to @harvardcrimeson for their thoughtful coverage of my appointment as IACC Chair. This moment is about refocusing federal autism policy on unmet needs, scientific rigor, and real-world outcomes for autistic people and their families. https://t.co/QI98dxse3R
@MakeAStandOrg@PaulWhiteleyPhD@LauraCellini A 2019 review from researchers at UC Davis MIND suggests what many parents suspect--that neurodevelopmental regression is under-recognized. https://t.co/xMuj7muKlX
When the next IACC meeting is scheduled and announced, I call on parents to submit public comment. Physicians, researchers, journalists and the public at large need to hear your stories. As a parents, I know you you might be exhausted and profoundly disappointed with the medical system. But please--consider a public comment. Your experiences matter and need to be heard. https://t.co/pO5QtHaOSc
I am honored to serve as the new Chair of the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee.
Our members bring extraordinary experience and leadership—founding advocacy organizations, advancing legislation, championing inclusion, fighting for special education access, providing medical care, and training the next generation of autism providers. This term also marks a milestone: for the first time since the IACC’s creation in 2000, the committee includes two non-speaking adults with autism who type to communicate.
Because so many of our members have deep lived experience with autism, we bring both passion and urgency to the work ahead—focused on improving prevention, care, and outcomes while maintaining public trust and scientific integrity.
As Chair, I am committed to active outreach and broad public input through open meetings, listening sessions, and stakeholder engagement—including from those who have leveled early, callous criticisms that diminish the enormous achievements of our members. Our affected children and adults deserve apolitical, cooperative engagement to advance progress.

Human to human connection. Shared joy. There can be enormous beauty in providing the intense supports that many non-speaking & unreliably speaking autistic individuals need. This is a great example.
@EndTribalism I wrote about this in 2009. They put out a notice and did not receive enough of a public outcry because they did not cover this on any main stream stage. Very quietly they ended it.

@JanCBS@CBSEveningNews@tonydokoupil I like the commitment to try! We’ve been watching the last Decade plus (somewhere between 2010-2012) has been the biggest industry talking points ever. My advice is to stay away from the go to buzz words “mis” this “dis” that “debunked” and don’t let people answer that way either
🎤🙌 To me the “pro this/anti that” rhetoric is completely irrelevant. What’s been done to people that watched, felt all the effects and trauma of adverse events, anguished injury and looking for answers is astounding. Town square maligning, shaming&society accepted discrimination
AARON SIRI: “What group can you talk about in America the way they talk about people who don't vaccinate? … Any minority, any religious, any ethnic group … ‘Don't treat them. Let them die. They deserve it.’ Who can you talk about like that?”
No one should be denied an education or medical care. But that’s exactly what happens w/ mandatory for all no matter risk profile.Even if a child develops seizure disorder after vaccination exemptions are shunned, child/family shunned. Discrimination is inflamed by 1size fits all
Yes @RetsefL. Access to education is foundational for long-term health & economic stability. Conditioning school attendance on Hep B vaccine compliance is unjust & risks deepening inequity. It does nothing to protect health in the school setting.
@AmySFLutz@and_kell@stuartvyse And it isn’t harmful to them to watch them SPELL without anyone touching them but using gross motor skills to access a different motor planning avenue to FINALLY be able to share their thoughts and opinions after over 20 years of being trapped and you deny their authenticity?!!
@SenBillCassidy He can’t sue vaccine man. No one can even if they purposely design defectively.Congress has failed to address that when the Supreme Court ruled they interpreted congress meant pharma should be protected even when knowing a product caused more harm than safer alter. Ie DPT vs Dtap
@mattvanswol Dont put the word “divorce” out there. In your thoughts or stress threats. Before you argue about something with your partner, first say what you’re thankful about them for &take responsibility for something you might need to be better at. Communicate verbally not “in your head”
@AlexBerenson 🙄 Some MN stealing $ has nothing to do with rising rates. Again you don’t miss a child who develops normally has a high fever, seizures, screaming GI pain as adverse events then regresses completely losing all language ability to follow directions and starts spinning in circles.
