Congratulations to @_sofiabarnett, Brown Class of 2025, on winning the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News as part of the @StarTribune's staff. The prize was awarded for the Star Tribune's coverage of last year's Annunciation Catholic school shooting.

Early 2026 transit data is in today, & SF is seeing a mini rail boom with Muni ridership up 15% & BART ridership up 12% compared to last year
SEPTA (Philly, 9.2%) and WMATA (DC, +6.8%) are also seeing strong growth, while the MBTA (Boston) & MTS (San Diego) are losing riders🧵
Can’t quite tell exactly what constitutes each category but it looks like she spent a lot on advertising/staff(especially)…not so much mutual aid

@alexbronzini Nine years ago…not quite woke-era either. But I think clear legislative examples of wokeism (POE isn’t quite the formalization of cancel culture you treat it as) are hard to find because, unlike Trump 2.0, dems largely didn’t translate it into policy. That’s important!
I know the in vogue political critique is to equivocate between woke and trump 2.0 but if we’re pulling first-term obama policy to justify it, the comparison is just not apt lol
Scoop in @playbookdc: @hasanthehun, the left-wing political streamer with millions of followers, will rally with Michigan Democratic Senate candidate @AbdulElSayed at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan on April 7. It’s his first appearance on the stump for a candidate.
We’re rolling down the O’Hare tarmac when the pilot goes “never in my 31 years of flying have I seen this but the cockpit window just shattered.” For fear of MRSA, I will not comment on which company manufactured the airplane…
@lxeagle17 tbf i think kat got the absolute most out of her campaign strategy (which I would categorize as building a national profile, rather that just “get likes on the internet”)…but it fundamentally just can’t overcome consistent local organizing
@MattZeitlin yeah but like the tea party, i think its mainly a test drive for new tactics in campaigning (that candidates don’t need ties to districts so long as they generate enough discourse online)…Biss and Kat aren’t actually that far apart ideologically
Frankly, I'm shocked this didn't become a bigger liability for Kat…she was the one who vaulted these claims to national attention, which coincided with her recent comeback in the polls
We just wrote a 5,000-word longform investigative feature on Sunny Naqvi, who claimed ICE detained her for over 43 hours, for @thejuggernaut.

Here’s why it matters:
And for the rational decisionmaker, the only conclusion to this all-powerful framework, obviously, is “spend a trillion dollars in iraq based on what you don’t know you don’t know but tell everyone you know that you know”
The fact that people still make fun of Rumsfeld for concisely explaining how rational decisionmakers should proceed is one of the great examples of bias making people looks like fools.
Affordability and Israel are literally the only motivating issues for Gen Z these days. And Dems have just punted on offering a coherent theory of them…leaving Fuentes types to vomit conspiracy into the vacuum
A good litmus test for the future of left-of-center politics is whether you think this person represents a key demographic worth fighting for or a hopeless case that can’t be won
