Have been working on creating couple of iOS apps over last few weeks using @bot
Created this bot from all my learnings.
It designs, builds, and ships native Swift/SwiftUI apps end to end: Mac build and test, install on iPhone, in-app purchases, store listing, and App Review.
Try it here: https://t.co/mxEzdB5oI0
@chessxyz How do you plan to use grok bot as a main gateway?
I also have mac studio 256GB on order and plan to run local models there but i do like grok bot and thinking of keeping that. Trying to see how to have grok bot use local modela and use grok could model for difficult tasks
@SawyerMerritt No one ever used mine but would like to see how it feels ๐

@itskyleconner So true. I have 2 Tesla vehicles and close to 10 keycards now.
They are cheap so instead of putting an effort in finding the one you lost, you order a new one.
Refer friends & family to gift them a month of FSD Supervised
Once they subscribe, you'll receive a free month in return (or $99 in Tesla Credits if bought outright)

@Blackwellboy@rickmanelius With the price they are charging for 256GB -> 512GB upgrade, having 2x 256GB machines is the way to go and its a bit cheaper and lot more flexible.
@CTOAdvisor I am with you brother.
The price for 256GB -> 512GB upgrade stunned me.
Cheaper to buy a second 256GB machine.
How is building a full machine cheaper for Apple than putting extra memory in one ?
Wouldnโt say absolutely nuke with RDMA+MLX but itโs definitely worse.
If 512GB version was $15-18k range, it would have been a no brainer but with it costing more than 2x 256GB machines, i think you really need to weight pros and cons and your actual use case.
If you are mostly running multiple models that would each fit 256GB, better to buy 2 machines and you can still cluster those for times you need to run bigger models. With 2 machines you do get better pre-fill performance along with 2x cpu/gpu cores and storage.
@semisauced@gasnamaka23913@digitalix You can still cluster two 256GB machines for the occasions where you need to run a model which wontโt fit in 256GB but will fit in 512GB.
Two machines also give you 2x the storage, 2x CPU and GPU cores while costing less.
@Teslaconomics $7k for 64GB memory is a bit too much but i get the appeal and want one too.
I did order 256GB mac studio with 256GB memory for $11k so i am all tapped out for now.
@0xkydo I think the price will push more people to buy 256GB version and push out its date even further.
Buying 2x 256GB machines is cheaper than one 512GB.
@Spangler3000 Exactly, you get 2x the storage, 2x CPU & GPU cores, extra flexibility among many other things.
On top of that its cheaper this way. Not sure why Apple priced 256GB -> 512GB upgrade so high.
