58 years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Georgia’s greatest son, was taken from us in a violent act of hate.
His legacy lives on in the work we do to build his beloved community and to bend the moral arc of the universe towards justice.
I conclude the week with my profound love and appreciation for my friend, the friend of all of us who lived out the command of our Lord in Matthew 25 about our responsibilities to “the least of these.”

The celebration of life for Father Strobel last Friday and the remarks by Becca Stevens and others reminded the crowd of how a humble servant of Jesus can impact a city and the world.
For it to be truly #Christmas, let us not forget this: God comes to be with us and asks us to take care of our brothers and sisters, especially the poorest, the weakest, the most fragile, whom the pandemic risks marginalising even more.
