@paulg Come on Paul, we all know you are A LOT smarter than that. Population density, natural resources (coal vs hydro) etc. play a role. Just trying to understand the purpose of your tweet? Thx.
@buysidebio Agree, but honestly $20m is not too bad for $DCPH Qinlock in the current environment. Evene $LLY Retevmo, and $MOR Monjuvi were down on the qtr. Arguably all pretty decent drugs
@Varro_Analytics@bradloncar Accuracy/coverage was always $PACB s key selling point not the issue. The main problem rather is, that $ILMN is good enough for most applications and way cheaper. Even Sequel launch in 2015 and improvements did not turn the needle.
@SHomburg I strongly urge you to check before citing flawed studies! IFR is undoubtedly well beyond 0.23%. As of today 0.2% of the entire population of New Jersey has already died from COVID. Re side effects you are obviously completely cluesless as well, but let's start with simple maths.
@OptionsHawk Does anyone have an idea what's driving $PACB recently? Following the co. since their IPO in 2011, but commercially SMRT sequencing has never left the niche and remained a total disaster.
@naval Quick sanity check: TOTAL fatality for NYS already stands at 0.1% of population as we speak. This would assume 100% of population already infected PLUS NO NEW deaths. This is COMPLETE NONSENSE!
@pmarca@stewartbrand Nuclear, hmm - ok. Natural vs man made reactor? Centralised vs decentralised production? Wireless vs wired transmission?100% safe vs "hopefully" safe? No waste vs waste? You choose...
@pmarca Excellent write-up. "Inertia, lack of desire, complacency"...all valid so the real question is why? Have humans changed (unlikely) or the system, where incentives are more and more predicated on individual, short-term , capital gains vs long-tem, societal quality of life?
@MaMoMVPY Whats the rationale to compare SWE to ITA, which has 10x higher pop density and was hit hard early on, to analyse efficiency of lockdown measures? For apples to apples (culture, pop. dens, timing etc.) comparing SWE to NOR / FIN would be more appropriate.
@DrDanMO Thanks, but beware this is a perfect example for statistical bias - Smokers are younger than non (former?) smokers! Need age adjusted stats! https://t.co/ZNmaO81p8C
