A lot of my friends want to understand what is the problem with what #ZohranMamdani is proposing! So here goes: the USA was built on the promise of Free Trade, where your money is an extension of your Constitutional Freedom and New York proudly showcased those values of a free world and free markets. What Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic mayoral candidate, is peddling, is a socialist dream city with "city run grocery stores", "free buses", "rent freezes", now all this sounds noble but spells disaster. It may appear as a dream but will soon be a nightmare for New York. It will destroy what the US stands for. Just look at London which was once a beacon of enterprise ! Today London is drowning in taxes, with sky-high levies on businesses, congestion taxes for your vehicles, super expensive parking, crazy local taxes on property etc. What then happens is, the wealthy start to diversify, the innovators flee to freer shores
& then businesses leave and ultimately who benefits? Not the working class, for whom these schemes were thought and anyway they are crushed by soaring costs!
