I upped the rigor on the @openupresources#7thgrade lesson on simulating multi-step experiments by having the groups who chose to use a spinner create their own (including calculating the correct angles to draw) instead of giving them the template. They rose to the challenge!
@MrsRBio@calm @ECarterMPS @TheWeyez1@pattavinat @MsGonzalezWWMS I've been using @calm too! My period 4 class does a 3 min body scan meditation when they come back from lunch to help transition. It's been helping!
Tried @Seesaw for the first time this week and wish I'd known about it sooner! Students used it to explain their quiz mistakes and make corrections. I love all the choice it gave students to show their learning. #iteachmath#differentiation#innovativemps
I love this @TeachingChannel strategy for grading. I keep meaning to use it more often! Ss were engaged and interested in exploring their mistakes instead of demanding "how come I lost a point on question 2?" #MTBoS#innovativemps https://t.co/kIoQexJTJt
My students are LOVING this online challenge version of the Proof! card game. They told me they're even playing it at home and during other classes (oops). #integers#middleschoolmath https://t.co/RadaziD2Zn
So impressed by the way @openupresources has helped my students develop their ability to articulate their thinking. (and, of course, impressed by my students ๐) #exitslip#OpenUpMath
My day always starts with 4 sticky notes. By 3:15, all of them must be passed out with a special message of appreciation or encouragement to 4 of my kids. The goal? Show each student theyโre noticed and valued. Thanks for the inspiration @thomascmurray#SEL#relationshipbuilding
@SuperEvansMath@MeehanEDU@MrsRBio @MsGonzalezWWMS @ECarterMPS It was great! Freed me up to manage the chaos better, gave me a lasting record of how many problems each group completed and how they performed and I didn't have to worry about keeping score. I assigned different questions different point values too, depending on difficulty.
Students had so much fun solving equations today! Instead of checking their answers with me, they entered them into a Google Form "quiz" that they submitted when time was up. Worked like a charm! #EggDashChallenge#innovativemps@MeehanEDU@MrsRBio @MsGonzalezWWMS @ECarterMPS
