@IncomeTaxIndia, I’m unable to register as a CA on the e-Filing portal due to an “Invalid PAN” error, despite my PAN being registered and DSC valid. With 21 Oct 2026 as the tax-audit deadline, please resolve this urgently or provide an approved workaround. @FinMinIndia @theicai

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to extend the due date of furnishing of Return of Income for Assessment Year 2026-27 in the case of persons mentioned at S. No. 2 in the Table below Explanation 2 to sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 from 31st October, 2026 to 21st November, 2026.

Accordingly, the 'specified date' for furnishing of the report of audit under the provisions of the Income-tax Act, 1961 for Assessment Year 2026-27, in the case of such persons, stands extended to 21st October, 2026

No one demanded extension for Non Audit ITR as sufficient time was given but because of that audit time line has been reduced to 30 days from 61 days.

Hence it's humble request to extend TAR due date urgently 🙏

What new trick will CBDT pull from its sleeve in today’s hearing before the Hon’ble Rajasthan High Court?

Every past writ for extension has been met with the same style of response from CBDT counsel (mostly casual). If someone analyze those replies across years and a pattern will emerge (it would be a fit case for contempt)

Due date is still 30 September unless the Court or CBDT actually moves.

If it doesn't come today, technically the purpose of extension would be dead!

🚨 Rajasthan HC — Important Tax Audit Update

Rajasthan High Court has directed CBDT to clarify today itself whether the Tax Audit due date will be extended.

The Court also observed that such an important issue should not be kept pending till the last date.

Most importantly, the Court remarked that if Chartered Accountants are facing genuine difficulties, ICAI should come forward and approach the High Court, since Tax Audit work is primarily undertaken by CAs.
