We’ve turned "busy" into a personality trait
If you aren't overwhelmed — you aren't working hard enough
"Busy" isn't a result —it’s noise
The most productive thing? Admit that half of what you’re doing doesn’t actually matter
Stop hustling. Start focusing

Interviewed a backend developer.
Guy was at 21 LPA. We offered 28 LPA, roughly a 33 percent hike. He agreed and confirmed joining.
Yesterday he emailed saying he got a 32 LPA offer elsewhere and now wants 36 LPA from us.
Nonsense. Why agree in the first place.
If you are still shopping offers just say it upfront. We stopped interviewing other candidates and waited through the notice period for the joining date.
Now two days before joining, he came back with a new price tag.
Hired "unproven potential" over Big Tech resume last quarter.
She cut hiring time 40% Week 1.
Proven hires: Execute playbook perfectly
Potential hires: Rewrite playbook better
1x output vs 3-5x growth
What's the riskiest hire that paid off for you?

Founders chase hires with perfect resumes.
Smart ones chase thinkers who spot what everyone misses
We hired someone with zero industry experience. She caught a pattern our team missed for 2 years
Six months later, she's our biggest growth driver
Fresh thinking > pedigree

Every founder who made it had a moment where nothing worked.
The difference? They treated failure as feedback, not fate
One more iteration. One more conversation. One more attempt.
Your breakthrough isn't behind you. It's in the next step you take

The best founders I know aren't the smartest in the room.
They're the most curious.
They ask 'basic' questions, learn from customers & admit what they don't know — then go figure it out.
Being a learning machine beats being a know-it-all. Every single time.

Most tech teams are overstaffed & understaffed at the same time.
You may have 15 engineers but need on DevOps for 8 weeks, on mobile for 5 months, and PCI for a quarter.
The real cost isn’t salaries. It’s mismatched capacity.
Build teams around projects, not positions.

"We'll just hire someone full-time"
Famous last words before a 6-month hiring process for a 4-month project.
Your team burns out, competitors ship, and month 5 hits of "still looking."
Best tech leaders ask: "What do we need?" not "Who should we hire?"
Flexibility > permanence
