Dearest Theatrical community, I earnestly believe the question “How are you?” shouldn’t be interpreted as “What are you working on?”. If I ask you how you are, I want to know you’re okay, not what auditions you’re getting. Let’s not conflate being okay with being in work. ❤️
Happy Monday!
As we enter into the final week of August & soon approach the last 1/4 of the year I’ve decided I need to get better at putting myself out into the industry…
So here’s a snippet of me singing! Enjoy & please share 😊
I’m tired, maaaan. Life in the arts is a slog. You’re not supported. You’re constantly competing and vulnerable and getting knocked down. You have to do it on your own. You’re not taken seriously by anyone who’s not in the industry. My mental health has suffered and I’m tired.
Yes so I’m seeing A LOT of performers socialising with groups of friends. It’s plastered all over their social media. At parks and pubs and bars. Hugging, touching and all over each other. Clearly not being socially distant. So genuine question, is this acceptable behaviour now?
