"40k is satire" is a lazy oversimplification that doesn't hold up anymore.
Early Rogue Trader had irony and exaggeration, and GW still occasionally throws the word around. But the current lore presents the Imperium's brutality and xenophobia as a grim necessity—or the lesser evil—against threats that will wipe out humanity and damn souls. Protagonists are framed as sympathetic or heroic defenders fighting for survival, not as pure objects of ridicule.
The core story leans tragic (the Emperor's hubris and the irreversible fall) and power-fantasy aesthetic far more than focused satirical demolition. Satire undercuts its target. Modern 40k mostly uses the Imperium as the human bulwark in a nightmare galaxy. Reducing the whole setting to "satire" ignores how it actually reads and plays now.
@OmegaStormX When it comes to science, I enjoy the warm feeling of my nerves pulsing through every single stroke and touch when my hands run through the fur and over the surface of alien cat girls bodies. Even more so if they happen to have amazing legs!!😁
@SWT_Channel The lack of taking responsibility and pinning the blame on external forces that had nothing to do with their failures is what bothers me the most, so yes sad but true and well deserved.
@brettmacro@patriot_savvy Overall government party control within each state, newsflash the federal government isn't the only government with a congress and senate, shocking I know!
