A Letter to Chase

Son, I never told you this journey would be easy. Greatness never comes without challenges, and I want you to remember something.

I will never forget the year you didn’t get a trophy at the PG awards banquet. You looked at me and said, “Dad, I want to be Player of the Year.” And you did exactly that. You turned disappointment into fuel. That’s who you are.

What most people don’t understand is this there has never been a level of greatness reached without failure along the way. Last night was just one of those days at the office you want to forget. Every great one has them.

Son, let me be the first to tell you something real: the only reason you hear the noise is because people can’t believe you’re really that good. But guess what you are that good. For real.

Even as good as I was at 17, I never carried the expectations, the pressure, and the eyes watching me the way you do. That tells me something you are special.

So keep being the young man you are. Keep your head up. The truth is, many wish they could walk in your shoes. Envy and jealousy are real, but so is purpose.

Always remember, you have a village and a family that loves you to life. We don’t make excuses we work, we grow, and we win.
