I built a channel from the ground up. One automated flag took monetization away from all of it.

And nobody has explained why.

I’m the creator of Chat Files, a YouTube commentary channel built around internet personalities, streamers, and online controversies. I’ve spent years building this channel, developing its voice, and turning it into something my audience genuinely cares about.

Today, my channel is demonetized for a reason I believe is fundamentally wrong: a “Related Channel” suspension.

Here is what happened.

A channel belonged to my former housemate got demonetized months ago. We lived in the same home and shared the same Wi-Fi connection. He operated his channel on his own computer, with his own AdSense account.

After that, randomly, the consequence reached my channel, Chat Files.

The one I have spent years building, lost monetization because of an association I have repeatedly tried to explain.

Think about that for a moment.

A channel belonging to someone I used to live with gets demonetized. Then the channel that supports me and my team loses its ability to earn.

And when I appealed, my appeal was rejected.

I am not asking YouTube to take my word for everything. I am asking for someone to actually examine the evidence.

Chat Files is not a channel uploading mass-produced or ai videos. Every video starts with ideation, research, and scripting. I personally record the voiceovers. Our production process involves a team of three writers and three editors working on different topics.

We maintain research documents, revise scripts, create original edits, build visual sequences, and design custom thumbnails in Photoshop. I can show the project files, assets, production boards, and the work behind any of our videos, you name it.

My audience responds to our distinct narration, commentary, and perspective. There are real people behind this channel, putting real hours into making something original.

What hurts most is that I have tried to explain the situation, submitted an appeal, and still have no resolution.

My appeal was DENIED right away. And there is NOT A SINGLE VIEW ON IT.

I understand why YouTube needs policies to prevent creators from circumventing suspensions. I respect that. But there is a difference between enforcing a policy against someone responsible for a violation and associating an independent creator with another person’s channel.

A shared home Wi-Fi connection should not, by itself, be treated as conclusive proof that two people own or operate the same channel.

If there is evidence connecting my work to a violation, I want a fair opportunity to address it.

But please, let someone examine the actual facts: who operates these channels, who owns them, who produces the content, and how independently they are run.

A careful review of the evidence and a clear explanation of the decision.

I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for a fair assessment.
