Linden NJ and Forestburgh NY are two municipalities where officials are using zoning laws to discriminate against Jews because of their "hats & curls."
Thank you @CivilRights@AAGDhillon@DAGToddBlanche@TheLeoTerrell for reviewing these outrageous violations of Federal law.
Gefen To The Rescue: After community activists tried for many months to negotiate with a billboard company to remove an immodest billboard at the entrance to the new Hasidic Linden, NJ neighborhood but were unsuccessful, a well-known Jewish company, Gefen, stepped in to fulfill the mitzvah of guarding one's eyes and secured the billboard for a very expensive price.

Last year, Linden's Mayor Derek Armstead was recorded telling school officials that hiring practices should be in accord with “what has to happen in order to keep our community being taken over by guys with big hats and curls.” @SethAMandel

We are alarmed that the city of Linden #NJ has proposed additional zoning regulations allegedly motivated by anti-Orthodox Jewish bias. This is on the heels of prior accusations of anti-Jewish discrimination by the town's mayor. #NoHateInTheGardenState.

Linden claims to stand for “Community, Diversity, and Progress.”
But these zoning ordinances—and the way the meeting was run—betray those very values.
The double standard toward the Jewish community is clear. And it’s wrong.
- Linden Resident gets ZERO
Hundreds of Linden residents have shown up to tonight's city council meeting to voice their objections to recent zoning changes which they allege target their community.
With hundreds of residents in attendance, and a room capacity of only 181, the Linden City Council meeting was cancelled and a vote on the proposed ordinances were postponed.
Tonight's postponed vote is just the latest battle with a New Jersey municipality dealing with a growing Orthodox Jewish population in an illegal manner - all of which ultimately ended with federal RLUIPA lawsuits or settlements.
