It was such a rich and joyful morning. What a privilege to covenant with fifty faithful saints this morning to form a new church! If you’re in Chapel Hill or Durham, come worship with us on Sundays at 10am and 5pm!
Thrilled to announce that my book, "A Light on the Hill," is now available for pre-order just in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mark Dever's ministry at @CHBCdc.
The book will formally release on April 1, 2025. Endorsements forthcoming!

🚨DC-area folks: Event Announcement🚨
To celebrate the release of "Biblical Reasoning," @tylerwittman and I plan to host a seminar on the Trinity at @chbcdc on Saturday 7/9, from 9am to noon.
Open to the public. Free lunch reception afterward courtesy of RTS. (1/2)
Folks @chbcdc and others in DC, before our Bible Study tonight, starting at 6:50, I'll be reading a sermon C. S. Lewis preached 71 years ago today, "The Weight of Glory." It's my favorite writing of his, which is saying something.
@MarkDever, how's that for "today in history"?
Lord willing, I’m opening up God’s book tonight with the saints of @chbcdc! We’re studying James 5:13-18. Nearing the end of this dope letter. Pray for fruit and come on through if you’re around. 7pm at the church building!
"Every Sunday morning funds all seats full at Metropolitan Baptist Church... the average attendance is around 1300. Dr. Ball stresses only the Gospel, believes his congregation has 'enough trouble without bringing politics and topics of the day into the pulpit.'" -@washingtonpost
After weeks of genealogical research, I tracked down the living descendants of @chbcdc’s longest serving pastor: John Compton Ball (1903-1944). Today I visited with them, learned more about his life, and got to share what God has been doing at CHBC since! What an incredible day!
We are thankful to God for the 26 years of faithful service from you Mark. We praise God that he has kept you to himself, and you are leading us more and more to him.
Saying goodbye to the Johnson’s. Andy has served as an associate pastor at @chbcdc for 25 years and is now moving to plant a new church. Thankful for his investment to this congregation and praying the Lord will use the Johnsons to advance the Gospel and bring many to Christ.
