i have been craving structure and art and discipline and creativity and meaning lately, and i think i'm going to do this again in 2024 (but not on twitter).
A list of things to do today:
Wake Up
Eat Breakfast
Get dressed
Go to Frog’s house
Take walk with Frog
Eat lunch
Take nap
Play game with Frog
Eat supper
Go to sleep
days can feel bleak, then you talk to an IBEW member in a fast-growing southern local who's getting stewards in gear for jobsite ICE defense ("you guys need hardhats and a warrant, this is a restricted area") and you remember there are creative fighters for solidarity all over
It’s official - The NLRB gave a ruling on my case that just because you buy a couple Culver’s, Jimmy John’s, and Taco Bell orders for “the boys” doesn’t mean you can’t participate in a union election @MattBruenig
I’ve seen a lot of false information circulating in the weeks following the Minneapolis DFL convention. Some of it feels like reading Jan 6 voter conspiracy theories, so as the person who stepped in as head teller + audited the voting system, I’d like to set the record straight🧵
Heartwarming personal story: These people tubing down Minnehaha Creek shouted out a phone number and asked a man on the bridge to take a photo and text it to them. That man was me.
Since Saturday’s convention, many people have reached out to ask if I will be challenging the DFL endorsement. I want to be clear: I will not challenge the endorsement and will not collaborate with those who are challenging the endorsement.
@taylr @NickKruse_ extremely digusting to correlate frey’s instruction to leave the convention to amy’s medical incident in any way shape of form. i hope she is doing well.
@hj_paulson @RepAishaGomez@javimorillo i personally helped convince my neighbor, a dewayne supporter, to stay at convention (~7:30pm) and flipped his support to fateh. he was very happy to help endorse omar and it was beautiful solidarity
@hj_paulson @RepAishaGomez@javimorillo relatedly, i heard (but haven’t confirmed) that dawayne davis supporters were instructed to ballot for no endorsement, but that did not seem to have been successful as the badge ballot was overwhelmingly for fateh.
When thinking about Omar Fateh winning the DFL endorsement this weekend, some context is useful: A challenger has not won the DFL endorsement against an incumbent mayor in at least this century. I'll leave it to others with longer memories to say if it has EVER happened.
