[NEWS] Grammy CEO Harvey Mason jr. has issued a statement in response to #BTS’ decision not to submit for the 2027 awards!🚨

“I am saddened to hear that BTS has chosen not to participate in the Grammy Awards process this year, but as a music creator, I understand and respect their decision,”

“I do want to clarify something that seems to be getting lost in the conversation. The Asian Pop category was created to celebrate the depth, diversity and extraordinary growth of pop artistry coming out of Asia. The spirit of this new category is to shine a dedicated spotlight on these important artists. More categories mean more artists’ work is recognized. It’s never to divide, but to expand who is recognized by our 15,000 Grammy voters.

“I also want to be very clear: submitting music in a genre category such as Asian Pop, or Jazz or Country does not exclude an artist from also submitting and being considered in the General Field categories, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year,” he continued. “Those categories remain open to any eligible recording, regardless of genre. Recognition in a genre category and recognition in the General Field are not mutually exclusive. An artist can absolutely pursue both.”

The most powerful part of this decision is that they are no longer asking to be accepted by the industry. They already know their worth as artists and understand that they deserve nothing less than everything they have built and earned throughout the years. 👏💜🔥

I don't think people fully understand the magnitude of this decision.

Some of the music industry's most respected producers, writers, engineers, and creatives worked on ARIRANG. A project built to the highest artistic standard. One producer even spoke publicly about hoping the album would receive Grammy recognition.

Then the Recording Academy introduced a category specifically for Asian pop.

And BTS chose not to submit.

Think about that. The biggest musical project of the year. One of the strongest commercial and artistic contenders. A project that could have competed across multiple major categories. It simply won't be in the race because the artists chose principle over prestige.

Moves like this don't happen often. When artists at BTS' level willingly walk away from the biggest stage in music, the conversation shifts because of what they refused to endorse.

관객 여러분께 뜻깊은 시간을 마련해 드리기 위해 운영에 소홀함이 없도록 최대한 준비했으나, 현장 안내 혼선, 팬 기프트 배부 과정의 대기줄 병목, 상품 수령 지연 등이 복합적으로 작용하면서 본공연 시작이 지연되었습니다.

공연 관람까지 오랜 시간 기다려주신 관객 여러분께 큰 실망과 불편을 드린 점, 다시 한 번 진심으로 사과의 말씀을 드립니다.

Nadiem Makarim akhirnya dituntut hukuman total 27, tahun penjara (18 tahun penjara, denda Rp1 miliar subsider 190 hari kurungan)

Sampai azan magrib saya nonton persidangan itu. Dan sehabis magrib, nonton Nadiem diwawancarai pers.

Kalian tahu kasus Nadiem? Dia dituduh melakukan tindak pidana korupsi dan merugikan keuangan negara. Tapi apa fakta yang ditemukan?

- Tidak ditemukan PPATK yang masuk ke rekeningnya,
- Tidak ditemukan aliran dana dari vendor ke Nadiem,
- Tidak ditemukan aliran dana dari Google ke Nadiem,
- Tidak ditemukan aliran dana dari PT Akab ke Nadiem, dan
- Tidak ditemukan aliran dana dari PT GI ke Nadiem.

Ada pernyataan menarik dari Pak OC Kaligis:

“Kalau bicara soal Pasal 2 & 3 Undang-Undang Korupsi, maka cantolannya adalah BPK (Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan). BPK mengatakan bahwa tidak ada kerugian negara. Namun, oleh jaksa penuntut, BPK dibilang tidak independen.”

Karena gagal membuktikan semua aliran dana ini, maka ada nuansa menciptakan fakta, seolah-olah ada pemufakatan jahat atau penyamaran penipuan uang yang dilakukan Nadiem.

Itulah berita hukum terkini, Gais. Dan hal yang sama juga saya temukan di kasus Gus Yaqut (baru sampai pra-persidangan, namun sudah ditetapkan KPK sebagai tersangka).

- Tidak ditemukan bukti korupsi ketika rumah Gus Yaqut digeledah,
- Tidak ditemukan aliran dana ke Gus Yaqut,
- Tidak ditemukan suap ke Gus Yaqut,
- Tidak ditemukan gratifikasi ke Gus Yaqut,
- Tidak ditemukan intervensi apapun dari Gus Yaqut terkait pembiaan jamaah haji khusus, dan
- Tidak ditemukan mens-rea (iktikad jahat).

Bahkan untuk sangkaan $1 Juta, ternyata hal itu dikerjakan oleh bawahannya ketika Gus Yaqut di Eropa. Sekembalinya Gus Yaqut ke Indonesia, ia memerintahkan bawahannya untuk menarik uang itu kembali.

Saya tidak sedang bilang Nadiem bersih. Saya juga tidak sedang bilang Gus Yaqut tidak bersalah. Saya cuma mau bilang, mengutip Fiersa Besari:

“Negara sedang dirusak secara sistematis, dan sepertinya kita cuma bisa menonton saja.”
