@laurien13 Yeah I hadn't thought of 'the clock is ticking'. I don't know if my grandparents have that, they're more kind of 'I'm done here, I don't need any new nonsense'.

I say grandparents plural, but actually it's now singular, as we cremated one of them yesterday.

@laurien13 I've seen with my grandparents that they don't have an appropriate mental model to help them comprehend what they're looking at. It completely baffles them, which makes them feel stupid and so they reject it.
"Where's that come from?" "Where did it go?" "Why did that happen?" Etc

@celinabledowska The author wrote in a very British way. It really made me feel proud of all these names and insults that my friends and I had for each other, that there was sort of a lyricism to them that I'd never before appreciated.
