First gen school goers, first five girls going out of their panchayat in Jharkhand not for working at home,brick kiln or brothel but 2 get trained as graphic designers. They were given choice between home and career&they dared 2 choose the latter. Our work is now showing results.

Aahan Foundation’s UrjaaFellowship is a two year program for the girls from marginalised community in rural Jharkhand. These fellows are the change leaders who have taken the responsibility of educating and empowering the girls in their community. #peermentoring #education

Right to education in many parts of rural India also includes duty to prepare mid day meal, clean classrooms & dirty toilets. It’s an accepted practice in Govt. Schools. Its a violation of child rights and is illegal using students as child labour. @HemantSorenJMM @smritiirani

@sameerksampat @JeanDreze We did a survey and roughly in a class of 180 girl students only 8 have access to mobile. This doesn’t mean that they use it as well.

So many are posting this video saying how terrible it is that "people" are fleeing. But only women are asking the important question of "where are the women?"
Are we so blind or biased that we cannot see them? Reality - women are invisible.

For me life is about pushing myself out of comfortzone. I challenged myself to cross this bridge on the bicycle before sunrise with nobody to rescue me. It was not easy for me as I didn’t know how to ride a bicycle till 2 days back. Life’s small pleasures!
