@tonykastaneda@_deceptionfalls I don't remember an argument like that.
Only problem I had with the video was the lack of recognition that managing your attention is a form of challenge. Pragmata isn't tuned to really push that, and progression eventually lets you ignore it, but it's not even commented on.
@jackcrawford__ Looking good != having a ton of visual noise making parsing the screen much harder. It can very easily be the exact opposite and enhance readability.
@PipoShrimp@LocalBtnMasher So because a proof of concept for a bunch of mechanics (which do not appear in Zelda 1) used Zelda 1 graphics, you now believe that Breath of the Wild is basically Zelda 1 but modern?
@Evilagram@LocalBtnMasher Even if Zelda 1 were "open world", it's clearly a very, VERY different kind of open world from BotW and nothing like what people envision when they use the term. It's foolish to conflate these experiences just because you can put a label on both of them.
@JuanIsidro@Jimborgen@Niflheimm155983 That's crazy calling out Zelda II, Link's Awakening, Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, Minish Cap, Four Swords, Four Swords Adventures, and Echoes of Wisdom like this.
@CrimsonSmasher@LocalBtnMasher He usually responds if there's anything remotely worth responding to, and you see a couple threads 10+ tweets long of him arguing with randos.
You should know. You're here to make a pissy comment on literally every tweet bladder makes without fail. How have you missed this?
@alamone@LocalBtnMasher Generally not a good idea to blame a channel for comments being deleted if it isn't obvious that tons of people are having tons of their comments, all on one side of an argument, disappear.
YouTube's wacky automation is to blame the vast majority of the time.
@NoPublicnames@LocalBtnMasher That's my point. Ducktales is correctly identified as not very difficult or punishing for its time, yet it's noticeably more difficult and punishing than Shovel Knight, a game people talk about like it's "NES hard".
@NoPublicnames@LocalBtnMasher Ducktales, the game for "literal children", is more difficult and punishing than Shovel Knight though.
People recognize Ducktales was for children and easier than the typical game of its time.
They don't recognize Shovel Knight is easier still. It's seen as a game for adults.
@STGshmups All fair. You had a number of edge cases and the occasional different genre already so figured why not with some of those.
In case you're not aware, Gunhound EX isn't for sale on Steam anymore. It still has a page but no way to buy and won't show up in searches.
@ManuelBorrelli5@CharmVersus@Spiders_STG People pushing for the inclusion of options like this almost always use "accessibility" as their reasoning/foot in the door, and other games tend to label them as such. Mina may not use the specific word, but we're stuck with all that baggage anyway.
@enejjohhem @AnxiousNeck The start, and the current state of things are radically different and matter. Minecraft used to be indie, it sure as hell ain't now.
@KiwiMeowahura@blkwomenfan What do you mean by that? The original Sin and Punishment dramatically changes enemy layouts, attack patterns, and so forth for every difficulty.
Are you saying Star Successor is majorly better because it does the exact same thing?
@currentlysneeds@neogeo8man@flatwifetheory You don't control the character and cursor independently in Zero. They are directly linked together. If the Arwing turns left, the cursor as well as the space the cursor can possibly aim within also turns left.
Though that doesn't really matter in the forward scrolling levels.
