A 15-year-old Alkira Secondary College student has undergone emergency surgery after being stabbed and slashed in the neck, back, arms and hands by Middle Eastern thugs who attacked him with machetes at Sabel Reserve Playground in Melbourne, Australia.

Police say the teenager had just left school and was with two friends when three males, aged approximately 16–20, began calling out and taunting the group before chasing him into the park.

Detective Inspector Mark Patrick said the suspects let out what he described as "a war cry" intended to intimidate the victims before launching "an extremely violent attack", repeatedly striking the boy with their weapons.
