What’s wild is that people are saying Africans didn’t participate in the slave trade. And they think they are being woke but really what they are saying is they think Africans were weak enough to be overtaken in mind and body by a small number of Europeans #TheWomanKing

Yes, African kingdoms definitely did participate. Most captured Africans didn’t see white men until they reached the coast. It couldn’t have happened without African participation because the Africans were far more powerful than the Europeans. It’s a complex issue #TheWomanKing
