@hollanovsy It's always hilarious to me how at that point it must be at least 3 years since Ilya was seen with any woman but everyone is still "oh yeah he's all about the ladies".
@connorstarchive People also tend to forget that Ilya says that he himself doesn't know if he's really ready to come out if it came to it. Him daydreaming about it doesn't negate that. I think they are much more on the same page than they think throughout TLG.
@_IndeliblyMe@CamOTBx@connorstarchive Exactly, it's mentioned very explicitly in their sessions. The big difference is that 3 years into their relationship, Ilya is realistic in that they'd likely get married to avoid deportation. So the threat is indeed lesser than when they started out.
@Lily628@kirasmulder Agreed and agreed. And I hope you're right. I think they could easily move the wedding and Shane's trade to S3 though, and then go into Unrivaled.
@Lily628@kirasmulder Personally I hope S2 runs until at least the commissioner confrontation. That would be a great arc and season ending. Super excited to see what they come up with though.
@wildrose76@EmeraldLottie@wermbraiin I think Rachel should make this canon in Unrivaled since so many NHL players get their wedding ring tattooed. These two definitely would.
@heatedrivalryud The sad little people will always hate, but others really need to stop amplifying these vile voices by entering into discussions, even if it's to voice their disapproval. Ignore, mute, block, and amplify the positive.
@OEimhear@solarilya Quite possibly. That would have the two scenes in the original post in different seasons. Which would still be fine of course but I think it would hit more having them in one season. In any case Jacob will definitely find the perfect way.
@yrs_on_purpose I think both approaches work well. In the show I feel like it's very much the emotional turning point for both, with Shane acting like they're much closer after, and Ilya getting scared and running the other direction. In that sense it's good that they pushed it back a bit.
@qiansjiaer I know the show likes to crank up the drama a bit but I sincerely hope they leave the immediate aftermath of the outing as is. Them laughing about it is so fun.
@shanerila I wish people could just go in trying to have empathy for both characters. It's so easy to do and I'd argue a more satisfying reading/viewing experience.
@abitofwhimsy_@tonedeafandh0t The commissioner very explicitly offered an alternative, I'm not sure how much clearer that setup could've been for some readers.
@whimsfully You could also argue that Ilya doesn't really "want" to be partying and drinking, it's more a coping mechanism for him. Given half the chance be jumps at staying home and watching TV with Shane even before they're together.
@hollanovingly I'm still hopeful that they will only move some parts of TLG to S3 and not split it down the middle. Thematically I feel like starting off S3 with the wedding and Shane switching to Ottawa would probably work well with then going into Unrivaled.
