This is happening everywhere, I’ve definitely experienced this a few times - absolutely appalling! Especially from @britishairways. Policy or not, discrimination shouldn’t be happening.
1/ Absolutely shocking from @British_Airways.. rang this morning via NGT Text Relay as I am deaf.. explained I couldn’t access certain parts of my booking and they said they couldn’t speak through a third person party. I asked how can I contact them? Their response - appalling.
Why it always have to be Luigi or Mario to go on missions to save Princess Peach?? Don't you think it's time to turn the table? Turn Princess Peach into bad ass warrior and save two bros asses for once?!
grief doesn’t show up the day they die
grief creeps up on a random Sunday night
grief creeps up on New Year’s Eve, the realisation and fear of leaving them behind the year you last saw them
grief creeps up on a food aisle when you spot their favourite food
grief comes on those sleepless nights
grief shows up when you come cross their ‘last seen’ time stamp on WhatsApp
grief shows up when you play a card game
grief shows up when you try and call them and realise they will never answer
@EjOfficial Hi! Yes Northern counties school has a large deaf unit. Benton Park Primary school & Broadwood school are also schools with deaf units. Hope this helps! ☺️
I want #help2sign@help2sign to ask herself how many deaf people she has blocked on her Instagram page? Surely this alone should be enough to make her question herself if she’s doing the right thing.. 🤦🏽♀️ #ignorant
Amazing! How @RoseAylingEllis and @pernicegiovann1 are having an impact - 'Web searches for sign language soar after Strictly performance' https://t.co/h4YlSz8IRj
How to watch home and away’s old episodes (from 29th September) now that subtitles are back to normal for channel 5? My5 still doesn’t have subtitles for sept/beginning of Oct’s episodes #homeandaway#subtitles
I want to talk about listening fatigue. To people who are unfamiliar, the name of it may seem a bit ridiculous.
However, for many deaf and hard of hearing people, it’s a major struggle we face every day. 🧵
*enters a school to work with a deaf child*
Headteacher: ah you’re Chelsea? Nice to meet you. You’re hearing impaired correct?
Me: I’m deaf.
Headteacher: ah okay, are you able to speak? *child* needs to be encouraged to speak. Signing is good but we would like her to speak.😑
