Chemical reactions mostly happen in the liquid phase but the influence of solvation remains poorly known. Comparing liquid and gas phase photoisomerisation, we show that although the process is slower in liquids, its vibrational dynamics remain coherent. https://t.co/pTub8PBqml
“We [Hungarians] are not a mixed race, and we do not want to become a mixed race either”
This was Viktor Orban at Baile Tusnad just now, tearing into Western Europeans for “mixing with non-Europeans”
To all the Orban-fans out there: *this* is what you’re supporting
@_ToddPoe_ @SchelterGroup Looks remarkably like EuI2.
Made [EuI2(THF)4], which is the purple under UV. Then as you dry it you lose THF down to ~EuI2(THF)2, which is the lighter blue.
This is neptunocene [Np(COT)2] team @TEAS_Actinides made today. Its not as pretty as uranocene but shiny crystals grew from this swamp within 1 min of adding the K2COT solution. Crystals can be seen shimmering in this video #fblockrocks
Hi there! We're hoping to film another episode this weekend, still looking for one more guest in the area of radiopharmacuticals/isotope labelling for medicine/nuclear pharma chemistry. If you in that area (or know someone who is) we'd love to have you on the show!

Today marks the 60th death anniversary of the Weizmann Institute photochemist Yehuda Hirshberg, who passed away on September 20, 1960. He isn’t very well known, so let me take this opportunity to write a bit about him in what is my first thread on Twitter. (1/9)
