The Role of Chemically Innocent Polyanions in Active, Chemically Fueled Complex Coacervate Droplets by @BoekhovenLab#openaccess thanks to #projektDEAL https://t.co/ONtUQbbaFh
Thank you to all the organizers and other participants of @syschem21! It was a great conference! Thank you so much for selecting my work for a poster prize 🥳🥳🥳

Active droplets are droplets regulated by reactions. These are important in biology, but much of their behavior is elusive. We created rules to design such droplets that can serve as model systems. https://t.co/pVInBkPbeg
We use reactions to regulate the dynamics of phase separation!
These droplets can serve as a model for biocondensates. Others think they may have played a role in life's emergence.
But how to design them? Check @ChemFabi's latest @J_A_C_S for answers!

Check out @wurbser's paper, now in print.
With @waltherlab, we use our favorite chemical reaction cycle to regulate the self-assembly of block copolymers. In turn, the assembly acts as a container to regulate the rate of another reaction (a Diels-Alder).

3) Our reaction cycle can also be used in combination with PEG-PSS block copolymers. We can create chemically fueled complex coacervate core micelles. They can even show morphological transitions as a result of the constant building block turnover
2) I also tested different strand lengths of poly(styrene sulfonate) in combination with one peptide library member. The stabilizing effect of long PSS strands also led to less dynamic coacervate droplets: The droplet dissolution was delayed compared to the ongoing reaction cycle
Hi all,
I am excited to present our recent study from the @BoekhovenLab on chemically fueled self-assembly of block copolymer micelles working as transient nanoreactors as a #RSCPoster, #RSCOrg, #RSCCat.
Hi,
I am delighted to present our recent work from the @BoekhovenLab on self-immolative active emulsions as a #RSCPoster. We developed some materials which destroy themselves after a certain time and decay within several minutes. #RSCMat
I'm excited to share this work with you by
@BK_SupraChem! She dug her teeth into a supramolecular behavior that we'd formerly brushed away as "it's just weird"... 🤔
