My little project on partner violence against women and HIV which I developed and implemented with guidance from Prof @LukoyeAtwoli has been published 🙌. Full paper available here https://t.co/N1MbhJvhnl
The Kenyan skating community flood the streets of Nairobi to celebrate Kelvin Kiarie after he won gold and silver medals for Kenya at the International Skating Championship in Benin.
The death toll in Gaza in the first 15 months of Israel’s attack was 53% higher than official figures according to @LancetGH. So the real figures as of now could be over 110,000 deaths, or 124,000 including indirect deaths, 5.4% of Gaza population. And Israel isn’t stopping.
Dear Kenyans.
We are currently going drak, off internet. What you will see online posted by regime will be total lie. Alot will be going on in the dark and you won't know.
But as you stood besides Tanzanians during that darkest times, we humbly request you to do the same for us
Ugandans are losing internet access in the next hour. Please share this with them.
Tanzania shut down the internet but we still reported what happened. We’ll be watching Uganda closely
They have shut down the internet for our brothers in Uganda.
That only means, that it is our civic duty as the problematic siblings in EAC, to tell everyone on the world that is happening in Uganda.
Germany no longer recognises money sent by diaspora via non-bank methods (e.g. M-PESA) as tax deductible maintenance payments (§33a EStG). So if you want send money for your children/parents & claim it, it has to be via bank transfer. Kazi kwenyu @MPESAAfrica@GermanyinKenya
Basically, migrants leave your family, come work here & contribute to our taxes & pension. Yes, of course, you can claim dependency like any native workers. But only if your children/parents have accounts with institutions similar to our slow non-innovative, non-digitised ways.
Money transfer operators (Remitly, Western Union, MTN, digital wallets) thrive because bank accounts are still out of reach for many. Even here in Germany. But I guess the govt doesn't care about that. Or plausibly, wants to tighten surveillance & control over movement of money.
Germany remains in its own echo chamber when it comes to Gaza, completely isolated from discourse elsewhere in the world. With a few exceptions German journalism as well as policy (both go hand in hand) on the Middle East has completely failed since 7 October.
Another victim of police killing, this time in Kilifi county.
48 years old Dzoet Vangu was shot and killed on Monday, 13th October 2025, around 1.30pm as he was riding his bicycle heading back to work after having lunch at his home.
Upon reaching Kibaoni area, he was shot on the chest by police officers who were attempting to disperse protestors. He was immediately rushed to the nearby MEFI Hospital which referred him to Kilifi General Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
An X-ray done on the body shows the bullet remains lodged inside the chest area.
Vangu leaves behind a wife and 4 children.

May the memory of the 250 journalists murdered in Gaza be honored in the **Genocide Museum** that must be part of the reparations program owed to the Palestinians, when the genocide actually ends.
PS. Deleting a killed journalist's account is to kill them twice.
I reached out to @Klarna to report on not receiving verification codes when I want to make a payments online & increased number of phishing SMS with 'Klarna codes' I havent requested. Their response, try logging out & in after 72hrs. Haven't they seen what's happening to Paypal?
To end the carnage in Gaza’s apocalyptic reality, states must ACT: break the siege, protect civilians, impose arms embargo+ sanctions.
Meanwhile, the least I can do is amplify trusted voices on the ground. 👇
Mohammed, slain by Israel only moments ago, next to his journalist wife at Nasser Hospital after both documenting a series of episodes with doctors there.
And this is Tumticha Medical Centre, registered this year.
According to SHA records, in April, it received a total of KSh 1.5 million, much more than even the sub-county hospital in the area.
But remember, this is just a single-room facility that doesn’t handle any complex procedures, not even basic lab tests.
What’s shocking is that MoH still gave it a license and considered it worthy of being called a hospital.
I’m providing the SHA records below.
