Today, on his birth anniversary, we honour Bharat Ratna awardee J.R.D. Tata—an Indian industrialist, philanthropist, aviator and former Chairman of the Tata Group.
J.R.D. Tata founded India’s first commercial airline, Tata Airlines, in 1932 and is widely regarded as the “Father of Indian Civil Aviation.” He was one of the first Indians to be granted a commercial pilot’s licence.
He was elected Chairman of Tata Sons at the age of 34, becoming the head of the largest industrial group in India.
We salute the legend for his selfless humanitarian endeavours and outstanding contributions to Indian industry and nation-building.
🔵 NATIONWIDE APPEAL | 5-DAY BANKING 🔵
Tomorrow, bank employees across India will unite on one voice, one demand — 5-Day Banking.
This is not about convenience.
This is about work-life balance, mental well-being, dignity of labour, and sustainable productivity.
In an era of 24×7 digital banking, expecting human beings to work endlessly without adequate rest is unjust and outdated.
Healthy bankers mean stronger institutions and better customer service.
We urge the Government, IBA, and all stakeholders to honour long-pending commitments and bring Indian banking in line with global standards.
📢 Join the campaign. Raise your voice. Retweet with conviction.

🇮🇳 Digital India. Viksit Bharat. Smart Banking.
📲 UPI works 24×7
💳 Apps don’t take Sundays off
Yet banks still follow a back-dated 6-day model? 🤔
A long-pending, already-agreed demand is still “under consideration”?
That’s not reform — that’s delay dressed as tradition.
#Implement5DayBanking Immediately.
Unconditional. Undelayed.

A better banking experience starts with a sustainable workweek. With acute staff shortages and mounting stress, 5-day banking is about public service and employee well-being, not a privilege.
UFBU has been pressing since 2015; IBA has already recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024) records the Saturday holiday clause, pending approvals/clearances.
Honour what’s on record. Approve all Saturdays off.
