Human— and even allowed to be outside and see the sun (gasp!) without anyone implying that I’m not doing enough or working hard enough. I made a good choice.
Teaching takes a lot out of me mentally, so when I teach multiple classes in a day I try (when possible) to take a little time in breaks between classes to just sit and decompress, outside when possible. I make up the work hours— eg by working in evenings or on weekends.
At my new/current job every colleague I’ve run into on these breaks just says how great it is, and that we have to find the time to recharge when and where we can, and the mindset and culture here is just so jarringly different but in the best way possible. I am allowed to be a

I sometimes see videos online of people whose glasses are all falling out of their cabinets and they’re just holding the cabinet doors closed to prevent the glass from crashing down but they know it’s going to crash as soon as they let go, and I am feeling very much like that rn
