Talarico should be up double digits against a corrupt man like Paxton. The closeness of this race speaks to the moral rot of millions of Texas voters—most of whom probably sit in church every Sunday morning.
ICE claimed that Lorenzo Salgado Araujo drove his van into one of their SUVs and later attempted to run an ICE agent over. The first thing our local media pointed out was the lack of damage on Araujo’s van. One of the best investigative journalists in Houston, Jeremy Rogalski, found surveillance camera footage showing ICE ramming the van minutes before shots were fired.
The ICE story is already falling apart.

The Graham Platner fiasco proves that the Democrat Party is far too tolerant of sexual predators.

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy on the Graham Platner Allegations: That one thing I know about Republicans is when we had a very bad candidate, we didn't vote for that person. We walked away.
Justice Kagan:
"I dissent. The Voting Rights Act is—or, now more accurately, was—'one of the most consequential, efficacious, and amply justified exercises of federal legislative power in our Nation's history.' It was born of the literal blood of Union soldiers and civil rights marchers. It ushered in awe-inspiring change, bringing this Nation closer to fulfilling the ideals of democracy and racial equality. And it has been repeatedly, and overwhelmingly, reauthorized by the people's representatives in Congress. Only they have the right to say it is no longer needed—not the Members of this Court. I dissent, then, from this latest chapter in the majority's now-completed demolition of the Voting Rights Act."
This SCOTUS rulings so far
•Universities using race criteria to counter historical racism in admissions is unconstitutional, BUT
•ICE fascists using race criteria to target people of color is constitutional, BUT
•State legislatures using race criteria to counter historical voter suppression is unconstitutional, BUT
•Trump using race criteria to enact travel bans is constitutional
In short—race criteria that centers white people is constitutional, but race criteria otherwise is unconstitutional😐
BREAKING: The Supreme Court has completed its decades-long project to destroy the Voting Rights Act. It has blessed racial discrimination and further encouraged partisan gerrymandering in the Callais ruling. 1/2
As a born and raised Houstonian, white women like you make me roll my eyes. Clutching your pearls at seeing *shock* people of color in one of the most diverse cities in the country is peak racist nonsense. Bless your bigoted heart!
Took my daughter to Memorial City Mall, (77024 research that), because I wont let her go alone.
I was shocked. I counted the people that looked like me. After 100 people, there were only 10. It looked like something at a carnival. Like I was in a foreign country, and just a visitor. We can’t have nice things because thugs take over. I felt rage. 😡
We learned today is Justice Alito is many things. But two he decidedly is not are (1) a Southerner and (2) a social scientist. Of the ridiculous claims in his opinion in Callais is this one: There's "vast social change" especially in the South that makes race discrimination a rarity.
This stinks to high heaven.
While Talarico won this fair and square, I do not blame Crockett supporters for being pissed at blatant voter suppression in her home county. The GOP just did everything in their power to screw Black voters. They will try the same in November.
