Random thoughts on the USMNT / Balogun red card debacle:

1️⃣ Similar fouls went unpunished in the same tournament.

2️⃣ From a US sports perspective, the absolute lack of a review or appeal system for a red card feels incredibly outdated.

3️⃣ The alleged Trump/Infantino pressure creates a terrible look of compromising due process. Why did US Soccer bypass formal channels?

4️⃣ FIFA is supposed to have strict rules against political interference. A really bad precedent has been set with a massive slippery slope.

5⃣ Belgium’s response feels immature and insecure. By focusing so heavily on this drama, they're putting doubt in their own squad's ability.
