Is Todd Achilles a Berkeley experiment to determine whether a politician with a San Francisco Democratic background can be repackaged as a “lifelong Idahoan” independent and win Idaho’s ruby-red Senate seat?
Todd Achilles personally asked me to drop out of the Senate race. Before considering that request, I examined his background and the organizations supporting him. His story did not hold up under scrutiny.
Despite claims that he is a "lifelong Idahoan" who "grew up on an Idaho farm", history shows otherwise. Achilles is a UC Berkeley alumnus and current Berkeley lecturer. Before moving to Idaho in 2017, he lived and worked in Seattle and the San Francisco area. According to the Idaho voter file I reviewed, his first known Idaho registration dates to 2017, lists a previous San Francisco address, and identifies him as a Democrat. In 2024, he was elected to the Idaho Legislature as a Democrat. He is now running for the United States Senate as an independent.
Achilles is also a co-founder and president of Veterans for Idaho Voters. Campaign finance records show that the organization received $100,000 directly from Colorado-based Unite America in 2024.
Veterans for Idaho Voters has now “endorsed” its own co-founder and president. Its endorsement calls Achilles a “lifelong Idahoan” and says he “grew up on a family farm in Idaho.”
But archived and currently published accounts say Achilles grew up on a family farm in Oregon. His online history then takes him to Seattle, the San Francisco area, and finally Idaho in 2017.
Todd Achilles personally asked me to leave this race. After examining his record, his financial network, and the conflicting accounts of his background, I will not step aside. Idaho voters deserve accurate information about the candidates seeking their trust, and they deserve a real choice.

I have to admit, I always wondered what this part of Psalm 23 meant. I thought “He anoints my head with oil” was figurative language for God keeping the Psalmist healthy. I never knew this parallel.

Anoint my head with oil

Our hearts go out to the Mallie Williams family

Jared and Angela Williams have a six-year-old daughter, Mallie. Jared is a pastor in Tipton, Indiana.

This past Thursday, August 27, Jared was out mowing his lawn while Mallie played in a far corner away from the mower. Something flew out from under the mower and hit Mallie on the left side of her face. It sliced from her nose up. They took her to emergency for what they thought was just stitches.

A CT-scan showed the eye was also sliced with pieces of it missing. A piece of her brow bone broke off and pierced her brain. Mallie has undergone multiple surgeries. The doctors tried to save her left eye but couldn’t. Yesterday, they were able to take the tube out from her being intubated and placed her in a hospital room, out of ICU.

Please pray for Mallie and the Williams family in this sudden devastating tragedy. They are trusting God for the outcome. As I see updates, I will try to share.

🚨WOW!!!

A Bronx pizzeria owner saw a woman eating out of his GARBAGE.

He walked outside, took her by the hand, led her in, and pulled a hot slice straight from the oven for her.

She sat down and cried. He said: "Don't cry. Eat. I don't want you eating out of a garbage." ❤️

His name is Daniel Romano.

He owns D'Romano's Pizza in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx.

He didn't shoo her away.

"I grabbed her by the hand and I led her to the pizzeria and I went in the oven and I got her a fresh slice and gave it to her. Sat down and she started crying. I said, 'don't cry, eat. This is not a problem.'"

In that moment, he decided he'd never let it happen to anyone again.

So he grabbed a marker, wrote a sign by hand, and taped it in his window for the whole neighborhood to see:

"To the people eating out of my garbage, I have more love for you than you think. Please come in and tell me you're hungry. I will forever give you a slice and fresh water to drink."

When they asked him why, his answer was simple.

"Right now, I think this world is shot. There's too much hate. Too much negativity. Why not put a smile on someone's face?"

And it turns out this runs deep for Daniel.

It goes all the way back to his mother, Carmella.

"She had a saying in Italian. She used to say, 'a desperate person will always make a better decision on a full stomach than on an empty.'

"It always stuck with me. So I feed people."

A desperate person makes a better decision on a full stomach.

That handwritten sign has traveled way past the Bronx now.

Daniel says people are calling him from Texas, Arkansas, Hawaii, even Alaska, all wanting to chip in and buy slices for hungry strangers they'll NEVER MEET.

"Don't ask me, I didn't even know Alaska had a phone."

It all started with one slice.
One woman.
One man who did something kind.

LEAVE THE AMISH ALONE...

I live in rural agricultural SW Ohio on almost 4 acres in the country. There are beautiful vibrant communities of Amish, Mennonite, German Baptist and Quaker families all within a 15 mile radius of my home.

Everyday, I hear horse drawn carriages, with their clippity clop cadence pass my house, I look up and we wave to each other with a nod and a smile.

They are unvaccinated, healthy, strong, active and without the plethora of chronic diseases plaguing american children and adults today.

They provide further data and evidence to my decision to remain vaccine free the last 54 years. And evidence for my unvaccinated healthy grandchildren who are illness free today.

I support them, stand with them, and frequent their farmer's market shops every week for pastured eggs, organic meat and toxin free produce.

They have my utmost respect. I welcome every family to Ohio, who makes the decision to leave New York.
