Grateful to have joined brilliant minds at #Hackathon2025 to explore tech, ethics, and justice. Proud that Group 4 placed 1st Runner-Up! The work continues—next week, I will launch a newsletter on tech policy, governance, and inclusion. 🌍✨ #DigitalJustice#AfricaTech
This is utterly despicable and shows a complete lack of compassion. Urgent police detention reforms are needed to address the deplorable and inhumane conditions in which detainees and prisoners are being held. We can—and must—do better as a nation. Where is our humanity and sense of responsibility toward our fellow citizens? @MoiceComm@UNHumanRights@julius_maadabio #SaloneX #SaloneTwitter
As our group navigates the #TechPolicyHackathon2025 exercise, I keep returning to one core question:
How do we design for trust, not just compliance, in African tech governance?
It's not only about data or systems. It's about justice, transparency, and voice.
#SDG16Plus
"How do we build digital systems that do not just automate authority, but earn public trust?"
I'm still reflecting on this as we begin building in #Hackathon2025.
I have seen and read the many celebratory tributes on free movement during yesterday’s elections. The WIN was for all of us—because participation in democratic processes and electoral rights MUST never be restricted arbitrarily. As citizens, we must endeavour to fertilize our democracy by our voices and actions. Our courts, in this case, demonstrated how democratic breakthroughs can be accelerated by judicial activism. I’m grateful to @WilliamsYada_H for litigating my case in the Supreme Court with his characteristic fearlessness and fierceness, and to the community of fellow activists and right practitioners and all those who labour on a daily basis to push the boundaries of our democracy.
Our lawyers visited @PoliceLeone stations today to gather information on the arrest of opposition activists following the events on June 21. Here's what we found:

We were informed that all files have been sent to the DPP as the police claim they don't have the power to release them.
In the interim, @LansanaDumbuya, the opposition APC National Secretary, who was arrested yesterday, has been released. #JusticeForOppositionActivists #ProtectHumanRights #SierraLeoneDecides2023 #SaloneTwitter @sierraeyesalone@ProfOsinbajo@LisaJChesney

On this #WorldAIDSDay, the South Sudan AIDS Commission launched a HIV Legal Environment Assessment report, with the support of @undpsouthsudan and @UNAIDS. The report provides a robust evidence base of barriers to tackling inequalities in #SouthSudans national AIDS response.
Day 4: Meeting with the Chair and members of the National council of Provinces (Lower House).
Among other key issues discussed was whether to apply individual, community or symbolic reparations in SS.

Day 5; meeting with former commissioners of 🇿🇦 TRC
Key issues;
✅Establishing a truth commission must consider local legal and political trade-offs while meeting international law demands.
✅Community reparations should be encouraged over financial and individual reparations.
