@AndrewE_Dunn i just don't buy the neglected diseases only.
this much attention on life sciences only makes sense if you eventually bring drugs to market yourself.
even if claude science matches veeva's revenue in 12 months, it'll be <2% of their revenue (assuming overall ARR doubles).

Are therapeutics startups the crabs of the biotech world?
In evolutionary biology, there's a phenomenon called carcinization, where different species, again and again, independently evolve into something that looks like a crab.
It's happened at least 5 times.

@kw841 What a joke. Not true for 98% of American high schools
that being said a lot of the competitiveness from indian high schools comes from the insane way the education system is set up. entirely unproductive.
I don't think of myself as an anger prone person. So many.
1. setting a payroll i magically could not on board employees. no clue why. Account manager couldn't help me either. Waited two weeks and it randomly self resolved.
2. even once i added employees, one part of the ui told me my entity was not verified. another part of the ui told me the entity was verified. could not proceed. took four days for support to
resolve.
3. When onboarding myself as an employee, home page when i logged on did not display any to-dos. Clicked around a bit and didn't see any action items.
4. eventually i went in a fishing expedition a week and a half later and found the them. Did them all.
5. UI now showed me as onboarded but when processing payroll i just didn't show up. got an alert about something being misconfigured. Contacted support.
6. got a response from support saying they had manually added me to that specific payroll. At least this time it was in 24 hours.
compute is expensive and will stay scarce. smaller, specialized models is key to getting around that constraint. excited to see Girish working on that problem!
“don’t train your own model” is common ai advice. it's wrong. your token bill's the proof.
today, we’re excited to launch castform into open preview. castform is the easiest way for you to train your own model, on your own data.
open-weights models are performant and much cheaper. when trained on your task & proprietary data, they beat closed models. the thing standing between you and that was weeks of plumbing & years of ml expertise.
with castform, model training is as simple as prompt engineering. @castformai
bring your agent traces or raw corpora. castform turns it into training data, picks the right algorithmic recipes, manages gpus, and gives you an ide to watch and chat with your model as it learns.
