Vamos, @RafaelNadal!
As you get ready to graduate from tennis, I’ve got a few things to share before I maybe get emotional.
Let’s start with the obvious: you beat me—a lot. More than I managed to beat you. You challenged me in ways no one else could. On clay, it felt like I was stepping into your backyard, and you made me work harder than I ever thought I could just to hold my ground. You made me reimagine my game—even going so far as to change the size of my racquet head, hoping for any edge.
I’m not a very superstitious person, but you took it to the next level. Your whole process. All those rituals. Assembling your water bottles like toy soldiers in formation, fixing your hair, adjusting your underwear... All of it with the highest intensity. Secretly, I kind of loved the whole thing. Because it was so unique—it was so you.
And you know what, Rafa, you made me enjoy the game even more.
OK, maybe not at first. After the 2004 Australian Open, I achieved the #1 ranking for the first time. I thought I was on top of the world. And I was—until two months later, when you walked on the court in Miami in your red sleeveless shirt, showing off those biceps, and you beat me convincingly. All that buzz I’d been hearing about you—about this amazing young player from Mallorca, a generational talent, probably going to win a major someday—it wasn’t just hype.
We were both at the start of our journey and it’s one we ended up taking together. Twenty years later, Rafa, I have to say: What an incredible run you’ve had. Including 14 French Opens—historic! You made Spain proud... you made the whole tennis world proud.
I keep thinking about the memories we’ve shared. Promoting the sport together. Playing that match on half-grass, half-clay. Breaking the all-time attendance record by playing in front of more than 50,000 fans in Cape Town, South Africa. Always cracking each other up. Wearing each other out on the court and then, sometimes, almost literally having to hold each other up during trophy ceremonies.
I’m still grateful you invited me to Mallorca to help launch the Rafa Nadal Academy in 2016. Actually, I kind of invited myself. I knew you were too polite to insist on me being there, but I didn’t want to miss it. You have always been a role model for kids around the world, and Mirka and I are so glad that our children have all trained at your academies. They had a blast and learned so much—like thousands of other young players. Although I always worried my kids would come home playing tennis as lefties.
And then there was London—the Laver Cup in 2022. My final match. It meant everything to me that you were there by my side—not as my rival but as my doubles partner. Sharing the court with you that night, and sharing those tears, will forever be one of the most special moments of my career.
Rafa, I know you’re focused on the last stretch of your epic career. We will talk when it’s done. For now, I just want to congratulate your family and team, who all played a massive role in your success. And I want you to know that your old friend is always cheering for you, and will be cheering just as loud for everything you do next.
Rafa that!
Best always, your fan,
Roger
#AlphaReview - ⭐️ ( 1 Star )
#Alpha is a CRINGE FEST that puts the final nail in the coffin of the Spy Universe.
YRF and its writers have done it yet again. Just like the previous films in the Spy Universe, they’ve once again made an Indian Army officer the primary antagonist who turns rogue against the nation but this time they gave it a terrible twist inspired from Hamza Ali Mazari (Revealed before the climax )
This time, #BobbyDeol plays that officer, the creator of the “Alpha” super-soldier program. After the Indian Army shuts the project down, he continues running it illegally. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s characters are also products of the same Alpha program, giving them abilities that resemble a “Spider-Sense and other powers copied from multiple Hollywood flicks .”
The story is so illogical and absurd that as the film progresses, it makes you feel angry, irritated, amused, frustrated, and completely bewildered all at the same time.
#AliaBhatt, whom I consider one of the finest actresses of our generation, should seriously take an oath never to do another action film. It simply doesn’t suit her. Watching her single-handedly overpower 10–20 men who are over six feet tall is impossible to believe. She neither has the physical presence nor the raw intensity that such a character demands.
As for Sharvari, it feels like more attention was paid to her makeup than to the choreography of her action sequences.
The story is written by Uday Chopra, while the screenplay is by Sridhar Raghavan and Soumil Shukla. Believe me, they’ve managed to surpass even #War2 and #Tiger3 in delivering one of the weakest and most nonsensical scripts in the Spy Universe.
Comparing Alpha with the #Dhurandhar series would be a crime. Its real comparison should be with films like Naam Shabana, Akira, and Dhaakad and even by those standards, Alpha comes across as the weakest of the lot.
Bobby Deol’s character is disappointingly underwritten, and his mixed Haryanvi-Rajasthani accent fails to leave any impact. Anil Kapoor is a terrific actor, but he feels completely out of place in this universe.
Patriotism is virtually nonexistent in the film. Hrithik Roshan’s cameo is the only aspect that is genuinely worth watching.
Shiv Rawail’s direction lacks impact, but it’s hard to blame him entirely. When the writing is this poor, there’s only so much a director can do.
Overall, Alpha is a very poor film. It lacks thrill, substance, and even the kind of action that audiences can genuinely enjoy.
Watch it at your own risk.
Father Alleges Cover-Up in Son’s Tragic Death at MAHE Bengaluru; Police Begin Investigation
Bengaluru
A grieving father has accused the #Manipal Academy of Higher Education (#MAHE) Bengaluru of concealing the truth behind the death of his son, a second-year engineering student, raising troubling questions about the circumstances of the tragedy.
Anjani Kumar Mishra, who traveled from #Ranchi ( #Jharkhand) after receiving the devastating news, said the official account of his son Lakshya Mishra’s death does not match what he witnessed at the hospital and at the site of the incident. According to the family, they were awakened at 3:30 am by a phone call informing them that Lakshya had fallen from the ninth floor of a campus building. Barely half an hour later, another call confirmed that he had succumbed to his injuries.
Upon arriving in #Bengaluru, Mr. Mishra inspected both the body and the scene. He claims the evidence raises serious doubts about the narrative of an accidental fall. He pointed out that the window opening at the alleged site was too narrow for a person to slip through unintentionally. “A child couldn’t possibly fall through it,” he said. He further noted that the injuries on his son’s body did not appear consistent with a plunge from nine stories. In addition, he alleged that the blood patterns at the spot where Lakshya was found did not align with the impact expected from such a height.
The DCP, North East Division G.K.Mithun Kumar, IPS, confirmed that the family of the deceased has arrived. Based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s father, a case has been registered. The investigation is already underway, and the police team is currently analyzing CCTV footage as part of the inquiry.
The distraught father has accused the college administration of withholding the truth. “Manipal isn’t telling the truth. I need your help. I seek justice. I humbly request your support; it would be the ultimate tribute to my son,” he said in an emotional appeal.

Novak Djokovic to Rafa Nadal after losing to Alcaraz in the Australian Open final
“I wanna speak to the legendary Rafa who’s in the stands. It feels very weird to see you there and not here 😂. I just wanna say it’s an honor to share the court with you and to have you watching the finals here.. it’s the first time for me. Obviously a bit of a strange feeling but thank you for being present.”
“Too many Spanish legends. It felt like it was 2 against 1 tonight. It wasn’t fair but okay” 😭😭😭
In Andhra Pradesh, we saw those who swore to protect environment ruthlessly cut down trees, destroyed forests and enabled the smuggling of our vital ecological resources for selfish gain. And then, on the other end of the spectrum, we have a humble person whose life was a total dedication to nature - Saalumarada Thimmakka, the woman known simply as the "Mother of Trees."
From a small village in Karnataka, Thimmakka and her husband found their life's purpose when they couldn't have children. They chose to raise a family of green. With pure love and daily labour, they gifted the world a breathtaking canopy, planting and nurturing over 8,000 trees, including 375 majestic banyan trees. Her life was not about seeking power or wealth; it was a vow of unconditional love to Mother Earth.
Today, at 114 years young, this legendary protector of nature has finally left us. Her life is a powerful lesson in true public service. On behalf of JanaSena, I offer my deepest respects to the great Saalumarada Thimmakka.
We have lost our mother of Trees, but her spirit remains with us. She continues to inspire us all to work toward environmental conservation, to plant trees in our communities, and to become the responsible citizens our planet desperately needs.
