The CEO made a clinical call while Akandoh made a political one. PKB understands health systems and the Akandoh understands optics.
KATH needed de-escalation but Akandoh chose to suspend the CEO; he lacks the change management competence this crisis demands.

He hasn't communicated any plan. There is no sensitization campaign or even one measure being put in place.

In 2017, global cocoa prices fell and the NPP protected farmers by making prices stay the same.

In 2026, global cocoa prices fell and Prez Mahama cut farmer prices 29%.
Now Dr. Bawumia has received the Minority's report from cocoa farmers and is preparing a policy alternative.

The contrast is stark. One government shields farmers from market shocks while the other uses market shocks to cut farmer income.

Cocoa farmers didn't ask for a haircut; they asked for protection.
