The RSPCA is appealing for information after the week-old female puppy was discovered on a path in Betts Park, Beckenham, on Tuesday morning (March 25).
A resident found the puppy, put her in a plastic bag, and took her home before contacting the RSPCA.
RSPCA inspector Jade Guthrie, who collected the puppy, said: "This poor pup was found on a pathway in the park.
"There were no marks on her body, although she was underweight and very small.
"It looks like she’d very recently died and was still soft to touch.
"We just don’t know how the puppy ended up at this location.
"She might have died when her mother gave birth at the location or she could have been dumped there.
"It was a really sad discovery and we would like to hear from anyone who might have information as we are concerned about the dog’s mother and any other litter she may have had."
Blankets were found in bushes near where the puppy was discovered.
The brown and white puppy, who was not microchipped, may have been a bull breed, but this is hard to determine due to her young age.

Telfer left English bulldogs Bonnie, Lady and Yogi unattended with insufficient food or water. Tragically by the time rescuers gained entry to the property, Bonnie had already died, while Lady and Yogi were severely emaciated with heavily matted coats and damaged teeth.
During November 2023 Scottish SPCA officials attended Telfer's home in Saughton Mains several times to investigate a report of concern about unattended dogs. Unable to gain entry, they merely left calling cards for Telfer to contact them.
Inspectors were eventually given entry and were met with a scene of chaos, with smashed windows, broken furniture, piles of rubbish and a pervasive foul smell.
Several doors had been chewed by the dogs and door handles had been chewed off.
Dog faeces were strewn around the property, there was no electricity within the home and the inspectors found a dead rat in the toilet.
They then found the body of tan and white bulldog Bonnie. A subsequent autopsy revealed she had suffered organ failure and starved to death.
Telfer initially refused to tell the charity officials where the two other dogs had been taken, but when they were eventually located both were described as being “extremely underweight” due to “a lack of nutrition”.
After learning of Telfer's "vulnerabilities", the court decided not to impose a custodial sentence on her‼️
