Popular chef and content creator Chef Amaka has shared the emotional ordeal she faced after being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) just months into her marriage.

Speaking during an interview, Amaka revealed that she got married in June, but three months later, after missing her menstrual period, she visited the hospital where doctors diagnosed her with PCOS.

According to her, the condition brought noticeable physical changes, including weight gain and increased upper-body features, making her the target of cruel comments from people around her.

“I just got married to my husband in June. Three months into the marriage, I didn’t see my period. Then I went to the hospital, they told me I had PCOS,” she recalled.

She said the hurtful remarks about her appearance were difficult to bear, with some people claiming she looked much older than her husband.
“I started having upper body structure. Then I started adding weight. When my husband and I stand, I looked way older. I was told I am the man of the house, that I b+at my husband,” she said.

Amaka added that the most p@inful comments were those questioning her husband’s masculinity simply because they had not yet conceived.
“What made me cry was when they said my husband is not man enough to father a child. In my head, I’m like all this because I’ve never conceived,” she said.
