I've made it back to NZ (Auckland this time) ready for the classroom next week. It's good to be back. I've written some reflections on the rollercoaster ride that was teaching in the UK. It feels like I've escaped in more ways than one.

I’m not quite sure how to explain what’s happened tonight, because it’s still happening - but here goes…
At 4:40pm I jumped on a train from London to Edinburgh..
It was comfy, it was quiet
In hindsight, too good to last…
Set out on a long walk and turned the playback speed down to 1.0x for this outstanding listen. Another remarkable edition of the cinematologists. Loved the historical perspective and numerous insights. Bookmarked for a revisit someday in the future!
"Gender critical" leader, Posie Parker has said that she never loses, and she will "annihilate" any woman - including GC women - who stand in her way.
She failed to hold her anti-trans rally in Auckland today, and she is now leaving New Zealand early.
Here's what happened. 1/
So grateful to have had the opportunity to pick the brains of Instructional Coaching expert @Josh_CPD and be coached by him!
It was a super juicy conversation, covering some of most sensitive areas of coaching and I learnt so much.

Still can’t quite believe this but I’ve been awarded an MBE for services to Equality in Education. I’m overwhelmed and indebted to so many people. #NYHonours
Great to hear the team back together. Lots of insight here that cuts through all the twitter noise. A really refreshing listen after reading all the overcooked takes.
@TomDavidson09 Given the increase in contributors and the emphasis on diverse demographics, I think the change you've highlighted actually lacks the overall drama many have characterised it as.
Teaching is so weird because nobody seems to want to talk about how to explain things... which seems like it'd be something we'd talk a whole lot about. There are a few things I've learned from research into clarity of explanations that I wish I'd been taught earlier 1/
After Sundance and Cannes success, 'All That Breathes' must be as much of documentary frontrunner for the 2023 Oscars as you can this far out. Would love to see it in the conversation for cinematography as well. It is absolutely beautiful.
Spent yesterday at the @CivicTheatreAkl for @Docedge. 'All That Breathes', 'Nelly & Nadine' and 'Girl Gang' were highlights. Recommend catching any of these on the virtual cinema in the next fortnight.
