In a recent conversation with The Observer, Chaka Khan responded to being described as a âstraight icon for queer visibility.â
âA straight icon? Whatâs the straight part? What do you mean, straight in what way?â she asked.
When the interviewer clarified the term as âheterosexual,â Khan replied: âAm I? How do you know what the f**k I am? I donât ever share that part of my life. Thatâs nobodyâs business but mine.â
