Jakom, it is nearly three months since you left. Many of us are no closer to overcoming this loss than we were two months ago. Indeed, your larger than life profile and the impact you had on us and the nation, means we may never stop mourning.

As it is your birthday today, we find occasion to pause in mourning, in deep reflection and gratitude, to celebrate the life of the most iconic leader this nation has ever produced.

The 80 years Raila lived represent a sum total of courage, sacrifice and an uncompromising belief in freedom and justice, the pursuit of which Raila neither wavered nor relented.

However, as we reflect, we also take stock of these past two months, a period in which the ideals and principles by which Raila lived and conducted his politics, have been violated by an emerging culture of impunity, intolerance, dictatorship and a conspiracy of silence in the face of threats to multiparty democracy.

As the country’s foremost second liberation warrior, Baba was the acknowledged father of multipartyism and the new constitution, which gave birth to devolution; two facets of Kenyan life that were meant to lessen government influence on our daily lives and to share out national resources equitably.

Multiparty democracy was intended to be a smooth avenue to free expression and choice, in which the identities and ideologies of political parties would remain distinct and independent, giving rise to a political environment of robust and diverse opinion. It is no wonder Baba insisted that we include respect for multiparty democracy and the integrity and identity of all political parties in the MoU he signed with president Ruto.

His death has created a platform for regression and shrinking of this space he envisaged, and more than ever, the country misses the wisdom and foresight of Baba, whose navigation of this space was supreme and unmatched.

Despite this, it behoves all of us he mentored and nurtured , to stand firm on principle and to lead a new political renaissance that seeks to align with the preamble of our constitution; which affirms the sovereignty of the people, celebrates our diversity and commits to rights, equality, democracy, social justice and the rule of law.

We do not have the luxury of rest, nor do we possess any fear in pursuit of Raila’s ideals. Raila Odinga was consistent in standing with the oppressed, speaking truth to power and in placing country before self, even when the personal cost was unbearably high.

In moments when compromise was convenient, he chose principle. In moments when silence was safer, he chose resistance. And on his birthday, we his students, as well as political and ideological mentees renew our dedication to the principles he stood for, as we honour his memory and legacy by staying the course on this path he charted for us.

His birthday warms our hearts immensely and makes us proud to have known him and learned at his feet.

There have been gruesome deaths in numerous regions. It’s not possible to hear anything in all parts of our country in four days alone. As a citizen and resident of the United Republic of Tanzania, I am writing.

Your special envoys to United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Lazarus CHAKWERA and The Commonwealth Secretary-General Professor Luis G. Franceschi planned to meet mentioned groups in their travel to Tanzania..

While journeying, they will meet with Government officials, political party leaders, representatives of civil society organizations, religious leaders and traditional leaders, national and international stakeholders.

As part of efforts to address issues surrounding the elections to support the start of a national dialogue on reconciliation and development after election that prompted protests and a deadly police crackdown.

What about the families who have suffered the loss of their loved ones? Who do they encounter? Who is the recipient of their stories? Did they not have any stake in what happened during and after the election?

We strongly reject any efforts to engage all stakeholders in dialogue that advances democracy, national reconciliation and development that exclude families that have experienced the loss of loved ones.

The Commonwealth has skipped crucial steps. One, investigations of the massacre and accountability. Murder shouldn’t be allowed to go undetected. After that, we move on to the subsequent phase.

Authorities imposed an internet blackout and they sent troops into the streets to disperse the protests. That was a grave human rights violations that include killings, enforced disappearances, unlawful detentions

Authorities should promptly, thoroughly, independently, impartially, transparently and effectively investigate all killings by security agents and bring to justice in fair trials those suspected of being responsible.

From my perspective, we must not engage in dialogue that advances national reconciliation while the exact death toll is unclear. We do not view the Commonwealth and Government’s games in a positive light.

🟡 IDF representatives informed the family of Joshua Loitu Mollel that he has been returned for burial.

According to the information and intelligence available to the IDF:

Joshua Loitu Mollel, 21, was an agronomy student who arrived in Israel for agricultural training at the Ibim Agricultural Campus as part of his studies. He was murdered by the Hamas on Oct. 7th, 2023, and his body was abducted to Gaza.

He was kidnapped from the cowshed at Kibbutz Nahal Oz, where he worked, and his death was officially determined on December 13th, 2023. He leaves behind his parents, three sisters, and a brother.

The IDF expresses deep condolences to the family, continues to make every effort to return all the deceased hostages, and is prepared for the continued implementation of the agreement.

Hamas is required to fulfill its part of the agreement and make the necessary efforts to return all the hostages to their families and to a dignified burial.

Naomba mrejee taarifa kwa umma niliyotoa tarehe 2 Novemba 2025, hotuba ya Rais Haramu ya tarehe 3 Novemba 2025 na tangazo la Mkurugenzi wa Mawasiliano Chadema la tarehe 4 Novemba 2025.

Kwa mara nyingine nitoe pole kwa familia za marehemu wafia haki, uhuru na demokrasia kutokana na uchafuzi wa mwaka 2025 kabla, wakati na baada ya uchafuzi huo.

Nakuomba wewe unayesoma ujumbe huu uungane nami kusimama dakika moja kwa heshima ya marehemu wetu na tumwombe Mwenyezi Mungu azilaze roho zao katika haki, amani na furaha ya milele.

Kwa wagonjwa nawatakia heri katika matibabu na ni sala yangu kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu awajalie neema ya uponaji.

Kimsingi hakukuwa na uchaguzi 2025. Na tunawashukuru Watanzania kwa kutekeleza kwa namna mbalimbali maamuzi ya No Reforms No Election. Mwenyezi Mungu awajaze rehema na baraka kwa majitoleo yenu.

Natambua kwa Chadema tuko kwenye kipindi cha maombolezo ya wiki moja kuanzia tarehe 5 mpaka 11 Novemba 2025 ambapo bendera za Chama zinapepea nusu mlingoti. Nashukuru wote walioungana nasi kutangaza maombolezo ya Kitaifa. Naiasa Serikali dhalimu nayo kutangaza maombolezo ya Kitaifa. Na nawaomba wadau wote wa haki, demokrasia na uhuru nanyi kutangaza maombolezo kila mmoja kwa namna yake. Nawaomba viongozi wa dini, kiroho na wote mnaothamini uhai na utu nanyi kutangaza maombolezo ya Kitaifa. Taifa letu linahitaji toba na uponyaji na hatua mojawapo muhimu katika mchakato huo ni maombolezo ya marehemu wa maafa ya kinachoitwa na watawala haramu na vyombo vyao "Uchaguzi Mkuu 2025".

Pamoja na kuwa katika kipindi cha maombolezo nimelazimika kuandika ujumbe huu kutokana na upotoshaji unaoendelea kufuatia hotuba ya Rais Haramu ya tarehe 3 Novemba 2025 kabla haijaleta taathira na madhara zaidi.

Ni udhalimu na udhaifu kwa Rais Haramu kuanza hotuba yake ya mara baada ya kuapa kwa kushika Quran kuanza kwa kusema uongo kwa kuipongeza Tume ya Uchaguzi isiyokuwa huru kwa "kuendesha uchaguzi kwa ufanisi usiotiliwa shaka". Toba na tiba kwa Taifa inaanza kwa kuwa wakweli mbele ya Mungu na watu ambao ni Sauti ya Mungu. Rais Haramu anapaswa kujirudi kwa kukiri ukweli hadharani kwa kuwa uongo wake umefanya vyombo vyake na wafuasi wake kuchukua mwelekeo wa kuwa hakuna tatizo kwenye taifa letu lenye kuhitaji suluhisho la haraka.

Rais Haramu amehamisha lawama ya mgawanyiko wa uchafuzi mkuu 2025 bila kujitazama ndani na kujikumbusha ukweli kuwa mgawanyiko huo ni matokeo ya kiburi chake, cha Serikali yake na Chama chake CCM kukataa kusikiliza sauti ya watu, sauti ya vyama vya kweli vya upinzani na sauti za wadau wengine muhimu waliotaka reforms kabla ya uchaguzi mkuu 2025 kwa kufanya marekebisho ya kikatiba, kisheria na kitaasisi kuweka mazingira ya kuwa na chaguzi huru na haki. Sauti ambazo zimepazwa kwa nyakati na njia mbalimbali toka aliporithi urais Machi 2021.

Mwito wa kutaka maisha yaendelee kama kawaida ni mwito wenye nia ovu ya kufunika kombe mwanaharamu apite. Maisha hayapaswi kuendelea kama yalivyokuwa kwa kiwango cha mauaji kilichofanyika na uwepo wa Viongozi Haramu madarakani wasiotokana na kura za kweli za wananchi wengi na walioapishwa kwa matokeo ya uongo bila hatua za haraka za toba na tiba kwa Taifa.

Amri yake ya vyombo vya dola kuchunguza ina nia ovu ya kuficha ukweli na kuhamisha mzigo wa tuhuma za mauaji na kukwepa uwajibikaji. Tayari matokeo ya amri hiyo ni kamata kamata inayoendelea ya viongozi wa Chadema na hatari ya kupika ushahidi. Tayari Makamu Mwenyekiti wa Chadema John Heche aliyekuwa mahabusu kabla hata ya uchaguzi kwa tuhuma za makosa ya Uhamiaji yenye dhamana amebadilishiwa makosa na sasa anatuhumiwa kwa ugaidi. Amri hiyo imekuwa na itakuwa na athari mbaya zaidi kwa walioko mahabusu za polisi kabla, wakati na baada ya Uchaguzi Mkuu 2025.

Vyombo vya dola havipaswi kuachiwa kujichunguza kwa kuwa ni watuhumiwa wakuu wa vitendo vya utekaji vya kabla ya uchaguzi na mauaji ya wakati na baada ya uchaguzi. Hivyo, Wananchi na wadau tuungane kutaka hatua tatu za pamoja na sambamba:
1. Kuundwa kwa Tume ya Ukweli, Haki na Upatanishi kwa mapendekezo kutoka Taasisi za kitaifa za dini, za kiraia na kisiasa zenye kuaminika.
2. Tume ya Kijaji ya Uchunguzi na 3. Kuja kwa Vyombo vya Kimataifa vya Uchunguzi vya Umoja wa Mataifa (UN) na Mahakama ya Kimataifa ya Makosa ya Jinai (ICC) kama nilivyotoa mwito kupitia taarifa kwa umma ya tarehe 2 Novemba 2025.

Rais Haramu hana uhalali kutoa onyo kwa wanaotuhumiwa kufanya vurugu bila yeye mwenyewe kwanza kujipa onyo kwa mipango yake na ya vyombo vyake kabla, wakati na baada ya uchaguzi iliyosababisha vurugu za vyombo vya dola na vikundi vingine haramu dhidi ya wananchi waliopanga kufurahia haki na uhuru wao wa kuandamana kwa amani na raia wengine waliouwawa ambao hawakuwa wanashiriki maandamano. Adhabu ya kutuhumiwa kuvunja sheria haikupaswa kuwa kuuliwa kwa risasi: hizi ni vurugu za dola zinazohitaji wahusika katika vyombo vya dola kuchukuliwa hatua. Ni nani wa kumuonya na kumchukulia hatua yeye aliyekuwa Amiri Jeshi Mkuu wa vyombo hivyo wakati wote wa vurugu hizo na mauaji hayo?

Juu ya kauli tupu ya Rais Haramu ya kutaka mazungumzo ni vyema akakumbuka na umma ukakumbuka kuwa Chadema wakati wote imekuwa tayari kwa mazungumzo. Ndio maana tuliomba mazungumzo 2019 na aliyekuwa Rais Magufuli baada ya uporaji wa uchaguzi wa Mitaa, Vijiji na Vitongoji 2019 tukapuuzwa. Tuliomba tena mazungumzo na Rais Samia 2021 mara baada ya Mwenyezi Mungu kufungua Ukurasa Mpya kwa Nchi yetu na tukakubali kushiriki mazungumzo 2022 na 2023. Hata hivyo ni Rais Samia, na Serikali yake na Chama chake ndio walikwamisha mazungumzo wakati huo kwa kukataa mapendekezo yote ya kukwamua na kukamilisha mchakato wa katiba mpya na pia kukataa mapendekezo yote ya marekebisho ya katiba na marekebisho ya maana ya sheria na kitaasisi kuwezesha chaguzi za 2024 na 2025 kuwa huru na haki.

Iwapo kauli ya sasa ya Rais Haramu sio ya kinafiki basi itanguliwe na na toba na tiba ya sasa ya mazungumzo ihusishe pia wasuluhishi na usuluhishi wa haraka kwa kuwa Taifa liko katika mgogoro mkubwa. Mazungumzo ya sasa yatengeneze mazingira ya dharura ya pamoja na mambo mengine kuwezesha kufanyika kwa uchaguzi huru na haki. Chadema tuko tayari kwa mazungumzo ya kweli, huru na ya haki kwa kuwa kwa mujibu wa Katiba ya Chadema ibara ya 3.2 katika itikadi yake ya mrengo wa kati Chadema inaamini katika siasa zilizo juu ya Vyama zenye kuzingatia zaidi maslahi ya Taifa. Katika mazungumzo hayo uhusika wa umma ama moja kwa moja au kupitia wawakilishi wenye kuaminika na kukubalika upewe kipaumbele tukirejea falsafa yetu ya people's power (Nguvu ya Umma).

Kitendo cha Rais Haramu kunukuu kipande cha hotuba ya Hayati Rais Mkapa ya mwaka 2000 ya kukataa kutekeleza maagizo ya waangalizi wa kimataifa wa Uchaguzi haramu uliosababisha mauaji Zanzibar 2001 kunaashiria kuwa hayuko tayari kutekeleza mapendekezo yaliyotolewa na waangalizi wa kimataifa ambao wamekwisha tangaza kupitia taarifa zao za awali kuwa unaoitwa uchaguzi mkuu wa 2025 Tanzania haukuwa huru wala wa haki.

Rais Haramu alipaswa kuzingatia kuwa Rais Mkapa katika kitabu cha maisha yake alichoandika kabla ya kufariki kwake alijutia matendo yake na ya Serikali yake mintaarafu uchaguzi wa Zanzibar wa 2000 hivyo hakupaswa kuitumia hotuba yake kama rejea kuhalalisha udhalimu wa mwaka 2025.

Hotuba yake hii ya kwanza haijaonyesha majuto wala unyenyekevu wa kustahili kujiita kuwa ni "Mtumishi Mkuu wa Maendeleo Endelevu" bali inamfanya apate tuhuma mbele ya umma ya kuwa "Mhusika Mkuu wa ama Mauaji Endelevu au Matendo Maovu Endelevu". Kazi na utu haipaswi kuwa kazi ya uuaji. Hotuba yake haijazingatia misingi aliyoitaja ya kutaka tuwe na taifa lenye umoja, upendo na amani. Ni jambo la kushangaza na kusikitisha kwamba hakutaja kabisa msingi mkuu wa haki ambao ni wa lazima kwa taifa kuwa na upendo, utu, umoja, matumaini, furaha na amani.

Rais Haramu ametoa tafsiri potofu kuwa Demokrasia sio uchaguzi bali matendo ya baada ya uchaguzi. Umma ni vyema uzingatie kuwa Demokrasia ikiwa ni utawala unaoundwa na watu kwa ajili ya watu ni vyote viwili- nani wamechaguliwa na wanatawala namna gani. Hivyo jaribio lolote la kuwaghilibu na kuwarubuni Wananchi kusahau uwepo wa utawala Haramu madarakani linapawa kupuuzwa na wapenda haki, demokrasia, mabadiliko, uhuru, ukweli na uadilifu ndani ya nchi yetu na katika Jumuiya ya Kimataifa. Hatua ya kuponya inapaswa kutanguliwa na kutambua kuwa kuna ugonjwa.

Nakubaliana naye kuwa Tanzania ni kubwa kuliko mtu. Hivyo, Serikali iliyopo (kwa maana ya utumishi halali na wa haki wa umma wenye ueledi na Maadili) , Viongozi wa Dini wenye Roho ya Ucha Mungu, vyama vya siasa vyenye kuheshimu sauti za watu, Jumuiya Huru zisiingie kwenye mtego na kumtetea Rais Haramu na Viongozi wengine haramu kwa kuwafanya kuwa wakubwa kuliko Tanzania.

Badala yake waendelee kuheshimu sauti za watu na nguvu ya umma inayotaka Reforms, Reconciliation na Rebuilding kupitia Katiba Mpya na uwepo madarakani viongozi wa kuchaguliwa na Wananchi kupitia kufanyika kwa uchaguzi huru na haki kwa haraka.

Ni udhalimu na kinyume na utu kwa Rais Haramu kuanzia hotuba yake bila walau kutaka watu kusimama dakika moja kwa heshima kwa maafa ya Mauaji yaliyotokana na uchafuzi wake; lakini ni udhalimu zaidi na uovu kumaliza hotuba yake bila kutangaza maombolezo ya Kitaifa na kuagiza bendera kupepea nusu mlingoti sanjari na kuagiza misaada ya mazishi kutolewa kwa familia za waliouwawa kuwawezesha kusitiriwa kwa haraka.

Narejea kuwaomba tuendelee na maombolezo tukiweka kumbukumbu za wafia haki, uhuru na demokrasia wote wa matukio na matokeo ya tarehe 29 Oktoba mpaka sasa.

Katika kipindi hiki ambacho bado pia Chadema tunazuiwa kukusanyika na kufanya vikao kutokana na zuio ovu la tarehe 10 Juni 2025.

Nihitimishe ujumbe huu kuendelea kutaka na kusisitiza:

Mosi, Waliouwawa wapewe mazishi yenye heshima, kumbukumbu zao zihifadhiwe na familia zao zilipwe fidia.

Pili, Vyombo huru vya Uchunguzi vya Kimataifa vije kuchunguza udhalimu iliofanyika kabla, wakati na baada ya uchaguzi.

Tatu, hakuna uchaguzi halali iliofanyika Tanzania tarehe 29 Oktoba 2025 hivyo matokeo yaliyotangazwa tarehe 1 Novemba 2025 ni batili na haramu.

Nne, Mwenyekiti Tundu Lissu, Makamu Mwenyekiti John Heche, viongozi wengine na wananchi waliofanywa mahabusu na wafungwa wa kisiasa kufuatia msimamo wa Chadema na wa umma wa No Reforms No Election waachiwe huru bila masharti yoyote.

Tano, Taasisi ya Chadema iliyo kwenye kifungo cha kisiasa kwa kuzuiwa kutumia rasilimali zake na kufanya shughuli za kisiasa tangu tarehe 10 Juni 2025 iachiliwe huru kwa maombi yenye nia ovu kufutwa ili kutuwezesha kutumia haki zake na zetu za kikatiba na kutimiza majukumu yake na yetu kwa taifa kwa Taifa katika wakati huu muhimu kwa mustakabali mwema wa nchi yetu.

Haki huinua Taifa (Mithali 14:34) na haki na amani vinabusiana (Zaburi 85:10) wenye kutoa hukumu dhidi yetu na dhidi ya wengine watoe hukumu kwa haki (Quran 4:58) na Haki ifanywe kipaumbele (Quran 16:90) tudumishe Tanzania ya uhuru na umoja na zaidi tujenge Tanzania mpya yenye haki na furaha ambavyo ni vilele vya amani ya kweli.

My name is Boniface Mwangi, a human rights defender, a grassroots mobilizer, and an advocate for good governance and the rule of law.

Death threats are not new to me and my family, but the current regime has taken it to a new low. During the 10 years of Uhuru’s regime, l was threatened with death many times. Twice, I was accused of trying to overthrow the government. On February 14th, 2014, the National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC) accused me of being part of a U.S.-funded plot to destabilize the government. On May 6th 2019, I was picked up from my house in Nairobi by DCI detectives and taken to Central Police Station. They said l was a “person of interest” in an alleged plot to stage a revolution against the government. During those ten years of Uhuru's regime, l was arrested many times, taken to court numerous times on trumped-up charges, but never once found guilty of any charges.

In 2016, my family had to seek safety in exile. In 2017 l was shot at close range with a teargas canister and had to later undergo surgery. In 2021, hired goons planted pipe bombs in the family home we were building and detonated them in an attempt to demolish it. I’m still here, by God's grace, alive and undeterred. However, threats on my life have increased since l took part in last year’s protests and my life’s normalcy has been shattered.

On October 9th 2025, something very disturbing happened as I was traveling to Kilifi County. I had packed my own carry-on bag, passed through two security checks at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, and then just before boarding, my bag was taken away and I was issued with a luggage slip. I arrived safely at Malindi Airport and retrieved my bag. While on my way to the hotel, I opened my bag to get a power bank and discovered a used round of ammunition tucked in between my clothes. The bullet casing was on top of a pair of shorts that had been ironed and brought to me by my daughter the previous night, after which I placed them in my bag. The carry-on is used frequently by our family as a regular travel bag. The spent cartridge was slipped into my bag during the brief moment that it was not in my possession. There is only one way of interpreting this incident; a direct threat to my life.

I considered reporting the matter at Kilifi Police Station immediately, but multiple lawyers and human rights defenders advised against it. They believe the ammunition may have been planted to incriminate me, especially since I’m already facing trumped-up charges for possession of ammunition. Reporting it might have led to my arrest under the pretext of further “investigations.” Like the majority of Kenyans, l do not trust the police. For safety, I immediately reported it to a reputable human rights organization, took photos, and recorded a video, which l sent to some trusted people and my legal team, in case of any eventuality.

I have decided to take the bold decision to share this latest threat with the country, regardless of any potential consequences, for it is our silence that emboldens those intent on doing us harm. It is clear that my life is in danger, and has been for quite some time now. The attempts to intimidate me are becoming more brazen and far more direct, however. I appear to have been singled out for harassment since no other Kenyan, in recent times, has experienced so many arrests, targeted character assassination, and physical attacks as I have.

Since June 2024, I have been arrested five times. I also escaped an attempted abduction outside the City Mortuary on June 21st, 2024. On July 20th, 2024, there was an attempted raid on my office by goons on motorbikes, who recorded videos and posted them on social media, while threatening to invade my home as well. Police did not bother to open an investigation.

On September 24th, 2024, I was standing outside Harambee House when a team of police officers and armed men in plain clothes tried to grab me. I was saved by fellow human rights defenders. A month later, on October 27th, 2024, l was arrested by police at my home, detained at Kamkunji Police Station for a night, and afterward released without charges.

Over the past year, l have been explicitly targeted and demonized by the ruling regime. They frequently sponsor smear campaigns to manufacture anger and rage against me. Posters and videos are circulated blaming me for extrajudicial killings that have been perpetrated by the state. Social media accounts are created just to flood my comments section immediately after l post anything, and trolls attack me constantly, some even demanding that l should be killed. They don’t even use pseudonyms to make those threats but I don’t bother to report them, because l know they work for the regime and nothing will be done.

My communications are being monitored and disrupted. As a movement, we have experienced enforced internet disruptions during key mobilization events. We have had our events cancelled without any explanation, and been denied permission to hold events in public spaces. Digital and physical surveillance shadows us everywhere we go.

This is not a coincidence.

On April 2nd, 2025, l was violently arrested, and almost shot, at my office in Kilimani. I was taken to Kilimani Police Station and brutally beaten inside the police cells. The beating was so severe that l ended up in Nairobi Hospital for treatment. Instead of charging the officers who assaulted me, I'm the one in court defending myself against allegations of assaulting them.

On May 3rd, 2025, the police arrested two of my colleagues, Markdenver Karubiu and Brian Adagala, on false allegations of producing the BBC documentary, ‘Blood Parliament’, which documented the role of the state in the killing of innocent civilians during the 2024 anti-finance bill protests. More than four months later, they haven’t been formally charged. A day before the June 25th, 2025 first anniversary in remembrance of the Gen Z martyrs, two people l was working with to mobilise safety marshalls, former Harambee Stars captain Robert Otiti, and boxer ​​and Olympian Suleiman Bilali, were arrested on allegations of using social media to incite demonstrators to invade State House. They had not posted anything.

On June 27th, three other human rights defenders (who were also part of our team), John Mulingwa Nzau, also known as Garang, Mark Amiani, known as Generali, and Francis Mutunge Mwangi, alias Chebukati, were arrested while travelling on a Mombasa-bound bus and arraigned on arson, theft and vandalism-related charges. They were unconditionally released by the court.

Many other activists have been arrested under false charges with the majority of cases being dismissed. This ‘catch and release’ strategy is a government ploy aimed at sabotaging our progress and demoralizing human rights defenders. There have been attempts to infiltrate my team with human assets (snitches) and co-opt my allies and advisors by trying to turn them against me. The government is funding people who claim to be part of the Movement to sow mistrust and confusion.

On July 19th, 2025, in the lead-up to my presidential bid announcement, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Officers came to my home without a warrant, arrested me, then proceeded to illegally ransack it. They confiscated two mobile phones, a laptop, and three notebooks. They did not have a warrant to search my home. They then drove me to my office and produced a warrant to search it. The detectives took nine external hard drives, two laptops, company seals, six cheque books, and stamp duty documents. They posted on their social media account that l had been arrested for facilitating terrorism and money laundering activities, among other false accusations. They later quietly returned all my property. Unfortunately, they cloned my electronics and planted spyware on them. I'm concerned that the DCI has our family photos from the past five years. Our family's private moments are in the custody of a rogue police force. Despite withdrawing the terrorism charges against me, the defamatory social media post associating me with terrorism was never withdrawn.

The government is using legal and illegal channels to try to frustrate and intimidate me. They have instigated multiple false criminal charges. There are plans to falsely accuse me of failing to pay taxes, and targeting my finances. I have been reliably informed that efforts will be made to de-register my businesses, among other forms of financial sabotage.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will also be pressured to challenge my eligibility to run for the presidency. They intend to exploit ethnic divisions, portraying me as an “entitled Kikuyu” in an attempt to turn public opinion against me. The National Intelligence Service (NIS) is wasting taxpayers money by coordinating and financing these vile attacks, both online and offline.

As I said before, threats are not new to me. However, the events of this past weekend have left me shaken, and l now believe my life is in serious danger, just like the lives of my friends, Tanzanian's presidential hopeful Tundu Lissu and Uganda's Kizza Besigye.

There were 159 recorded cases of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances in 2024, according to the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC). Between June 25th, 2025, and July 11th, 2025, at least 65 protesters were killed and over 600 injured. Many businesses were looted and destroyed. Women were raped, some of them gang-raped. These heinous acts were carried out by goons who were sponsored by politicians and the government, working in tandem with the police. Not a single person has been held accountable. The Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) is monitored by police, around the clock, through Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV). Parliament, City Hall, and the Supreme Court all have CCTV, and we have demanded that the footage from last year’s atrocities be made public so that we can identify the people who actually caused mayhem, death, and destruction, and hold them accountable. The state has refused to release the footage and, instead, arrested more than 500 innocent Gen Z protestors, charging 75 of them with terrorism.

The regime has lied that there will be no more abductions, but innocent Kenyans are still being found dead inside police stations and morgues. The secret hit squads that abduct, torture, and murder citizens are still in operation. The secret torture chambers are still operational. The regime wants to pretend to compensate victims of extrajudicial killings, as it simultaneously continues to abduct, arrest, maim, and kill innocent citizens, with zero sense of accountability or justice.

The only tool left in the hands of the state is bribery, blackmail, threats, violence, abductions, and assassinations. The targeted harassment, character assasination, and accusations of terrorism are part of a broader plan by the regime to discredit me before they murder me.

They have billions and bullets, but we have truth, people-power, and God; and that combination is an unstoppable force. This generation will liberate our country, once and for all. Kufinish kumalo. Time is on the side of the youth and Generation Zote.

If anything happens to me, look no further than the State.

This regime is afraid that the tide of change is blowing and they will be swept into oblivion by it. They fear the Movement, which is much bigger than myself or any single person. Change is here. The minds of our young people have tasted the freedoms provided by the Constitution and they can not go back to the politics of deceit, hate, tribalism, and division. We are ready to secure our freedoms, our country, and our future. This regime can arrest me, plant evidence, and try to intimidate me all they want—but they cannot stop an idea whose time has come. Dedan Kimathi’s execution did not prolong colonialism. Political assassinations did not prevent the end of single-party rule. I am and have always been a peace-loving Kenyan, who has fought for and defended the truth. l will continue organising with young people for the inevitable Ballot Revolution and to help create a better Kenya for all.

One of the things that inspires me about the many Kenyans that have been standing up against the evil regime is their courage to believe that a better Kenya is possible. That’s what we’re all fighting for. True courage is not the absence of fear, it is the ability to press forward in spite of it. I speak COURAGE fluently, and l will never stop fighting for a better Kenya.
