🔥 NEW B Shifter Podcast Episode 🔥
We sit down with UL FSRI’s Dr. Dan Madrzykowski to discuss how fire dynamics drives outcomes at outside fires, vehicle fires, and “container” incidents just as much as it does in residential structures. This episode connects real-world case studies to practical command decisions so crews stop feeding the fire with ventilation and start controlling conditions with effective water application and better size-up.

Nearly a year after the tragic #GabrielHouse fire, NFSA is partnering with the Fall River, MA FD to close a critical gap in #firesafety codes. Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon has announced a new initiative to update state and national fire codes, ensuring fire inspectors are legally https://t.co/YSmU7Ubi0I
Wrapping up a strong two days in Hall County, Georgia at the Blue Card Big Box Workshop.
Day 1 featured Shane Ray from the National Fire Sprinkler Association discussing modern fire protection systems and how the fire department interfaces with these systems during big box incidents. Day 2 focused on practical application through Big Box command simulations designed to reinforce strategic decision-making and hazard-zone management in large commercial occupancies.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to an outstanding workshop experience. @chiefrays@NFSAorg
UA sprinkler fitters install and maintain the systems that step in when it matters most—24/7 fire protection built to save lives and protect what’s on the line.
A Tale of Two Fires: Why #FireSprinklers Matter-Over the weekend, we saw firsthand how fire sprinklers make a life-altering difference. Saturday: A cooking fire extended into a kitchen cabinet. Because this building was retrofitted with a sprinkler system in 2017, a single sprinkler contained the fire instantly. The damage was minimal, the system was quickly reset, and residents experienced almost zero disruption. Monday: A devastating fire struck a different building—this one without a sprinkler system. While we are incredibly thankful no lives were lost, the building was destroyed, and multiple families lost everything that made their apartment "home" Both bldgs were built before modern codes, but the bldg w/retrofitted sprinklers completely changed the narrative. Thanks to @DSMFireDept Fire Officials for sending us this great example of the #fastestwater difference!
Protecting What Matters Most: Why #FireSprinklers are a Building Safety Essential 🏠🔥
May is #BuildingSafetyMonth, and this year's theme focuses on creating a "Built to Last" future. When it comes to making your home or business truly resilient, few things are as impactful as a fire sprinkler system. Did you know? Speed is Key: Fire sprinklers can respond to a fire in seconds, often controlling or even extinguishing it before the fire department arrives. ⏱️ Life-Saving Protection: Sprinklers significantly increase the chances of everyone escaping safely during a fire emergency. 🏃♂️🏃♀️ Property Defense: They minimize water damage by targeting only the area where the fire is located, unlike high-pressure fire hoses. 💧 Insurance Benefits: Many insurance providers offer discounts for buildings equipped with fire sprinkler systems. 💰 This month, let's prioritize #firesafety by learning more about how fire sprinklers and modern building codes protect our communities. @IntlCodeCouncil Learn more about Building Safety Month and how you can get involved: https://t.co/PWQWCRCpoH

I made it almost a month with the @SouthwestAir changes & understood the transition. that all changed yesterday with a new plane and a regular seat for me while 5 out of 6 passengers in the exit row would not even partially meet @FAANews regs. The process has to change for safety
1 Firefighter suffered minor burn injuries during the rescues; we are grateful recovery will be swift. @WISN12News' @mattsmith_news & @GerronJordan discuss the state laws preventing the mandating of sprinklers on existing buildings on today's Upfront - unreal timing.
At 5:30am today, @MilFireDept responded to fire in a multi-family dwelling, this one in the 6600 block of N 77th. 8 civilians rescued (including 2 infants), 7 via ladders and 1 interior; 2 additional with broken legs from jumping. NO SPRINKLERS.
