What happens when good intentions, resist God's plan?

First, please take note of the truth that it is not every voice that says, “I want the best for you,” is helping you fulfil your purpose.

We see and example clearly in {Matthew 16:21–27}, after Peter had just confessed Jesus as the Christ. Yet when Jesus revealed that He must suffer, be killed, and rise again, Peter objected: “God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.” Jesus responded sharply: “Get behind me, Satan! You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.”

Peter loved Jesus. His intention appeared protective. But we must understand that good intentions can become dangerous when they oppose a greater purpose.

This is a profound lesson for leadership, governance, family, society and nation-building: love without wisdom can obstruct destiny; protection without purpose can preserve the present while destroying the future.

This is a clear indication that sometimes, the greatest resistance to transformation comes not from enemies, but from people who genuinely care about us yet cannot see beyond our present pain.

One lesson we must learn from Jesus is that He did not reject the Cross because it was painful, instead He embraced it because it was purposeful.

Here, the Cross reminds us that meaningful transformation often demands sacrifice, discipline, courage, patience and the willingness to endure temporary discomfort for a greater good.

Whether in personal development, leadership, governance or societal transformation, we must learn to distinguish between what is comfortable and what is necessary; what people want and what purpose requires; human reasoning and divine wisdom.

The question is not merely, “Is this difficult?”

The deeper question is, “Is this part of the purpose?”

Therefore do not allow fear, comfort, public opinion or even well-meaning voices to make you abandon a God-given assignment. Instead accept God's plan in its totality. Carry your Cross with courage.Think beyond immediate comfort. Lead beyond applause. And Serve beyond personal interest.

Reflect on this today: What “Cross” are you currently trying to remove from your journey because it is uncomfortable, yet may be essential to your growth, calling or transformation? Remember to think as God thinks, not merely as the world thinks.

Who actually wrote the rules you use to measure other people?

Let's have this all important and honest conversation, calmly.

Often times you see people making effort to predict how other people's lives will turn out, and there after, they tend to channel all their energy to ensure that their predictions come to be. This could be evident in the way they deny your efforts and whatever you represent, and also always try to make you look small and unwanted at every instance.

You see Life is not a one-size-fits-all gamble that some of us make incisant efforts to force it to be.

Human beings are diverse, cultures are diverse, histories, environments, experiences, capacities and behavioural patterns are all diverse. It's baffling how we tend to often create narrow standards for measuring people, punish them for not fitting into our projections, and then turn around and blame their misfortune on their behavior.

So here is the uncomfortable question: Who wrote the rules you are using to determine how people must behave before you give them their due credit? And who made you the authority to decide how far another person's destiny can go?

I would say in all sincerity, never get to a point where you confuse your perspective with the boundaries of another person's possibility. The reason is because a person's present position is not necessarily a prophecy of their future, their background is not their ceiling, and their limitations if any exits, are not necessarily their God's limitations.

And this is where it becomes even dangerous for you, the 'determiner general', and 'judge of the universe': History and Scripture repeatedly remind us that systems can change suddenly. Remember that Nebuchadnezzar became intoxicated with power and reached a point where his authority appeared absolute. He behaved as though he had become the ultimate determiner of destinies. Yet, his experience demonstrated a timeless truth that no human being is sovereign over what God has ordained. This is a friendly warning for leaders, institutions, gatekeepers, communities and individuals.

If what you are declaring over someone's life contradicts what God has ordained for them, be careful. You may be building a system of exclusion today that becomes the very platform of your humiliation tomorrow.

You'll be surprised that the person you underestimate today may become the person you need tomorrow. The voice you try to silence today may become the voice that transforms the room tomorrow, and the life you attempt to diminish today may be carrying an assignment your system cannot comprehend in a life time.

So do not build systems that will require people to become smaller so that your projections can remain accurate. Instead, build systems that allow human potential to emerge. And again let me say this: Understand that there are accessible frequencies, energy levels and vibrations where only possibilities exist and solutions to complex problems discovered. And you just have to be another man, different from the regular guy to gain access to it. The fact that you have not thought of it does not make those who have gone out of their comfort zones become strangers that you are now using to test your prediction and destiny measuring abilities in effort to keep them smaller by all means because they are no longer within the limitations of your perspective after you have assumed yourself a God without whom they will never become anything no matter what they think they know or who they think they have become.

This should be a reminder that Leadership is not the power to define everyone's limits, but the wisdom to recognize potential beyond your own perspective.Therefore, before you judge someone's capacity, question the measuring instrument in your hand and mind.

When Power fears the truth, injustice gets a voice.

The account in {Mark 6:17–29} gives us one of history’s most sobering lessons about power, courage, manipulation, and moral compromise.

Herod knew John the Baptist was a righteous man. He respected him and knew he was speaking truth. Yet when pressure came, fear of public opinion, political calculations, personal weakness, and manipulation became stronger than conviction. A promise made under pressure ultimately cost John his life.

John had no army, political office, wealth, or institutional power. What he had was something far more enduring than all of that: the courage to speak truth without negotiating his conscience.

This is the uncomfortable lesson for our generation to draw from. In homes, institutions, businesses, religious communities, governments, and nations, injustice rarely begins with a dramatic act of evil. Sometimes it begins when good people become afraid to speak, leaders choose popularity over principle, institutions surrender independence, or individuals compromise truth to protect relationships, positions, privileges, or careers.

The twist is this: Herod had power, but he lacked moral courage, while John had no earthly throne, yet his witness outlived the throne. This is why leadership is not merely about influence, titles, elections, wealth, followers, or access. The true leadership ordained after divine order is the capacity to do what is right when doing what is right is costly.

As we mark the memorial of the beheading of Saint John the Baptist today let us examine ourselves: Where have we allowed fear of people's opinions to silence truth ?
Where have we traded principle for convenience? Where have we rewarded loyalty over integrity? Where have we remained silent when courage was required? All these have cost our generation a great deal of distress, and it's time we fixed it

The world today does not only need more powerful people. We need more principled people who are ready to center their leadership on principles.

May we have the courage of John to speak truth, the wisdom to resist manipulation, and the integrity to choose righteousness over applause. Because power eventually passes, Positions eventually disappear, and Public opinion eventually changes, but the legacy of courage, truth, and integrity can outlive generations.

To this end, before you demand better leadership from your government, institution, community, or society, identify one place where you personally need to choose truth over fear and act on it today.

And finally, let me ask: What do you think would change in our world if more people chose integrity when compromise was easier? Let's discuss.

The oil You cannot borrow.

In {Matthew 25:1–13}, Jesus tells the parable of ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom. While five were wise and carried oil for their lamps, the other five were foolish and waited without preparation.

Then, at midnight, the cry came that the bridegroom has arrived. At this point, the wise were ready, while the foolish were not. And when they asked to borrow oil, it was too late.

The lesson here is deeper than simply “be prepared.” We can say that the lamp represents our lives, and the oil represents that which sustains our inner flame which include: faith, prayer, character, grace, compassion, wisdom and a life intentionally aligned with God.

In life, no one can truly borrow another person's spiritual depth when your defining moment arrives. You cannot outsource character, manufacture integrity overnight, or improvise a relationship with God when the crisis comes.

This principle extends beyond faith. Nations also cannot borrow good governance at the moment of crisis. Leaders cannot manufacture credibility when trust has already collapsed. Families cannot build strong values overnight. And societies cannot create responsible citizens after consequences have arrived.

This parable teaches us that preparation is the invisible architecture of destiny. We should therefore ponder over what we are putting into our lamps today? Are we cultivating our relationship with God? Are we serving others? Are we building character when nobody is watching? Are our choices preparing us for the responsibilities, opportunities and tests that tomorrow may bring?

One certain thing is that the bridegroom will definitely come, the defining moment will come, the opportunity will come and the test will also come.

So, the question is not whether you will face your midnight. The real question is: Will your lamp still be burning when it arrives?

Run with this insight today and stay awake, stay faithful and stay prepared.Go ahead and identify one area of your spiritual life, character, leadership or service that you have been postponing and begin strengthening it now. Do not wait for tomorrow to demand what today requires you to build. Prepare before the moment comes. Build before the crisis comes. Pray before the battle comes. And ultimately , serve before you are celebrated.

When the time comes, may our lamp be burning brightly. Amen

THE MAN, HIS HOUSEHOLD, AND THE CANDY

Fellow Nigerians, Please let’s talk, calmly, honestly, and without the noise.

Please permit me to start this way: let's say a man has a 3-year-old daughter; bright, innocent, and full of trust. And she loves candy.

Now, let's also say this man earns 15 kobo. Not fantastic, but enough if managed well.

Interestingly, he also owns the raw materials to produce candy. By all standards he is not small, not poor, and not helpless.

But here’s the catch: he lacks the refining capacity. So he sells those raw materials cheaply, and watches others process them, and then buys back the finished candy at a premium 10 kobo per pack.

His daughter, unaware of global supply chains or domestic inefficiencies, contributes 2 kobo from the little gifts her uncles give her. Every time she wants candy, her father quietly adds 8 kobo from his own pocket.

Now here is the thing: To her, candy costs 2 kobo and To him, it costs 10. This is how illusions are built.

Over time, 8 kobo per purchase begins to choke the man. From 15 kobo, he spends more than half sustaining a perception, not a reality. The remaining 7 kobo struggles to feed the home, pay for school, maintain dignity, and plan for tomorrow.

Then comes the turning point: The 7 kobo is no longer enough.He starts to borrow. At first, it was small, then bigger, then repeatedly.

Sooner than kater, he finds out that he is no longer just working for his household, instead he is working for creditors.

Then debt servicing begins to eat into everything:

▪️School fees become uncertain

▪️ Food supply becomes unstable

▪️Basic needs become negotiable

Yet the candy keeps flowing, because stopping it would cause outrage.

And the daughter? She would protest:
“How can candy suddenly cost 10 kobo? It has always been 2!” She is not wrong, only that she is uninformed. Because for years, truth was subsidized.

Now imagine this: The man wakes up one day and says, “No more.” No more borrowing to fund consumption. No more illusions. No more 8 kobo intervention.

He explains:
▪️The real cost of candy

▪️The burden of accumulated debt

▪️The danger ahead if nothing changes

He offers options:

1️⃣ Pause candy consumption temporarily

2️⃣Pay the real cost

3️⃣Allow him redirect resources into building local production capacity

The reaction he gets from the people ? Resistance, anger, accusations. emotional blackmail. They called him “Harsh!” “Insensitive!” “Anti-people!”

But let’s ask the uncomfortable question: Is leadership about sustaining comfort, or securing the future?

Because here’s what discipline could achieve If the man stays the course:

▪️Debt will reduce over time

▪️Household income will breathe again

▪️Investment in local candy production could begin

▪️Jobs will be created within the household

▪️Dependency will reduce

And one day the critical thing may be that
Candy will no longer cost 10 kobo. It could drop to 2 kobo Or even less.Not by illusion
but by capacity.

At that point:

▪️The household becomes productive, not dependent

▪️Borrowing, if needed, funds growth, not survival

▪️Surplus candy could even be sold to neighbors

That is how prosperity is built, not by subsidies, but by systems.

This is Tinumathics 101:

1️⃣Remove the illusion to reveal the truth.

2️⃣End consumption-driven borrowing to unlock production-driven growth.

But let’s be clear: this is not a praise song, rather, it is a responsibility call.

Because removing the 8 kobo is only step one.

Tinumathics_08 102 must follow:

1️⃣Cut the cost of governance within the household

2️⃣Block leakages and waste

3️⃣Invest transparently in refining capacity

4️⃣Protect the most vulnerable during the transition(state Governors should listen to senator Ben Murray-Bruce now.)

5️⃣Communicate clearly and consistently

Without these, the sacrifice becomes punishment, not policy.

So, dear Nigerians, home and in the diaspora:

What happens when the outside looks right, but the inside is wrong?

Jesus’ warning in the passages {Matthew 23:27–32} is uncomfortable, but deeply and timelessly relevant, how? It's because some people can truly look righteous on the outside while their hearts remain full of hypocrisy, pride, bitterness, envy, gossip, backbiting, treachery, covetousness, etc, you'll be sunk in your knees wondering where they learnt performative righteousness from. Explicitly put, some people can appear like whitewashed tombs that can be attractive from a distance, but houses death within. This is not only a warning to religious leaders. It is also a mirror for all of us.

In Nigeria, we can have impressive titles, public prayers, religious language, political correctness, charitable gestures and carefully managed reputations, yet still harbour dishonesty, corruption, greed, tribalism, or injustice in our hearts. We can honour the prophets of yesterday while resisting the truth God is demanding from us today. The call is simply to remember that appearance is not holiness, public reputation is not character, and religious activity is not necessarily transformation.

The Almighty God is not asking us to look perfect. He is simply calling us to become truthful, repentant and transformed from within considering that the real question is not, “how do people see us?” but, “what does God see when He looks inside us?”

Today, let us have a rethink and ultimately choose substance over appearance, character over image, repentance over excuses, and integrity over applause. And let this resolve drive each one of us to thoroughly examine the territory we personally govern, our hearts, choices, relationships and responsibilities before demanding better leadership, governance or society from others.

A humble confession will always be better than a beautiful tomb. If this speaks to you, share it, not to expose someone else, but to begin an honest conversation about the transformation Nigeria needs, starting from within You and I.

What if I tell you that what we celebrate in leadership today often becomes what we suffer from tomorrow.
This is why I think that moving from grass root to governance has become an urgent strategic blue print to fix Nigeria, our great country

What I want to say is that there is no nation that is transformed by slogans, election cycles, or good intentions alone. This is to say that sustainable progress is often built through deliberate strategy, accountable leadership, and active citizen participation. If Nigeria is to realize its full potential, governance must no longer be designed from the top down. It must rather be built from the grassroots up.

To this end we must note that true national transformation begins when communities become architects of their own development.......

What if I tell you that the God We serve is looking beyond the outside?

Recall that Jesus’ strongest religious rebukes were not directed at people who knew too little, but at people who practiced religion carefully while neglecting what mattered most.

Reading through the passage in {Matthew 23:23–26}, we see how Jesus confronted the scribes and Pharisees for meticulously tithing even the smallest herbs while neglecting the weightier matters: justice, mercy and faithfulness. They strained out gnats but swallowed camels. They polished the outside of the cup while leaving the inside contaminated by greed.

This message speaks directly to most Nigerians today. Most of us can be very religious and still be unjust. We can attend services, quote Scripture, give offerings and publicly defend our faith, yet ignore corruption, oppression, poverty, dishonesty, abuse of power and the suffering of our neighbours.

One thing we must know is that God is not impressed by religious appearance without righteous character.

Please note that Jesus did not say to abandon the small things, what He says is to do them without neglecting the greater things. This means that Faith must shape how we lead, govern, conduct business, treat the vulnerable, exercise authority and respond to injustice.

We must also know that National transformation begins with personal transformation. A cleaner Nigeria requires cleaner hearts, stronger character and citizens who will no longer separate faith from justice, worship from responsibility, or spirituality from integrity.

The question is not only, “How religious do I look?” but, “What is happening inside me?”

Let us therefore ask God to cleanse our hearts and make justice, mercy and faithfulness visible in our homes, workplaces, communities, institutions and great nation.

Going forward, before demanding a better Nigeria from others, identify one area where you need to practice greater justice, mercy or faithfulness today. Start there. Then challenge someone else to do the same.

What if I tell you that the breakthrough you're praying for may have already arrived but just not in the package you expected.

You see, many people spend years asking God for opportunities while rejecting the very experiences designed to prepare them for those opportunities.

What if the "stones" thrown at you: the rejection, criticism, setbacks, betrayal, opposition, failure, and difficult seasons are the raw materials for the future you're praying to build?

We know that no builder complains about having stones, rather a wise builder only learns how to arrange them into something enduring.

This is why comfort zones are dangerous. They rarely stretch your capacity, sharpen your judgment, strengthen your character, or develop your leadership. Allow me to tell you that great leaders, innovators, nation builders, and history makers are not produced by comfort; instead they are refined by responsibility, adversity, and the courage to persevere when quitting seems easier.

Sadly, many people are encouraged to leave every place where they are not appreciated. While there are seasons when moving on is necessary, there are also moments when the discomfort is not a signal to quit but an invitation to grow. Sometimes, the resistance is developing your resilience. The criticism is refining your competence. The rejection is redirecting your purpose. The pressure is building the emotional intelligence, discipline, conflict-resolution skills, and wisdom required for greater influence.

For Nigeria to produce transformational leaders and responsible citizens, we must stop seeing every challenge as a curse and begin asking, "What is this experience teaching us? What capacity is it building within us?" And how can we make the most of it?

If your current season is forcing you to think differently, innovate, solve problems, and become a stronger version of yourself, don't despise it because growth is rarely comfortable, but always valuable.

It is never too late to retrace your steps, embrace purposeful discomfort, and begin building the future you were created to shape. Pick up the stones. Learn the lessons. And build the legacy.

What if I tell you that Progress could also mean moving from doubt to discovery

“Can anything good come from Nazareth?”

That question from Nathanael sounds surprisingly modern. We often judge people, places, communities, nations, religions, and even possibilities by reputation, history, appearance, or what we have heard.

But Philip did not argue with Nathanael. He simply said: “Come and see.”

In {John 1:45–51}, Nathanael moved from skepticism to conviction because he encountered Jesus for himself. He discovered that the One he questioned already knew him, understood him, and had a purpose for his life.

Here, the powerful lesson for our world is to not let prejudice become our conclusion before experience becomes our evidence.

In an age of misinformation, negative narratives, ideological division, religious suspicion, political propaganda, and social labeling, we must learn to investigate before condemning, encounter before judging, and understand before rejecting.

We must understand that Faith, leadership, relationships, nations and communities are often transformed when people are willing to take the first step beyond assumption.

By the way: A big Congratulations to Senator Adeleke on your well deserved victory ✌️

Beyond the politics, what I saw was a President who appears conscious of where he wants to take Nigeria and Nigerians, aware of the constraints around the journey, and deliberate about engaging the people who must help deliver that vision.......

Who Do You Say He Is?

Reading through the account in {Mathew 16:13-20},we see what happened at Caesarea Philippi, when Jesus asked His disciples a question that still confronts every generation: simply; “Who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus called him blessed, not because Peter had discovered this truth through human intelligence, influence, or political calculation, but because it had been revealed to him by the Father.

You see, that distinction matters, because in a world overflowing with information, opinions, ideologies, religious debates, and competing narratives, it's important to note that it is revelation that gives meaning to knowledge, while faith gives courage to live by truth.

We see that Peter’s confession became the foundation upon which Christ declared He would build His Church. Two thousand years later, despite persecution, heresy, division, scandal, institutional failures, and the weaknesses of imperfect people, the Church still remains. Why? Because its ultimate foundation is not human perfection. It is Christ.

This is also a lesson for leadership and society: institutions may experience human failure, but enduring transformation requires foundations stronger than personalities, trends, power, or popularity.

Today, I want us to make Peter’s confession personal: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Then ask yourself: If I truly believe this, what should change in my character, leadership, relationships, values, and service to humanity?

This will help us to not only merely profess Christ, but to let our confession shape how we live, lead, serve, and influence the world.

Now let me ask: What does “You are the Christ” mean for your life today? Share your reflection, and challenge someone else to think deeply about it.
